I will not have Twitter turn on The Batman just because Riddler doesn't dress like Joker lite/ Willy Wonka.
That's exactly what has me dumbfounded the most. We've seen what he was going to look like for about 9 months now.All they're doing is adding more attention to this movie. Keeping it trending top 10 is doing work for Reeves and WB. "No publicity is bad publicity" , but I am seeing a lot of people liking the new look. I mean it was in the trailer.
Twitter will turn on it at some point, it’s what they do with everything. I don’t really need everyone to love this movie, as long as I like it I’m fine. But a lot of these ppl will shut their traps once they see the trailer anyway, so I wouldn’t worry about it. People like criticizing until they actually see it in motion (like the batsuit) then it’s “Ohhh....”.
Riddler looking pretty intimidating these days.![]()
I got a good dose of old school, campy Riddler from the version in Gotham (which I loved), so I'm very ready for what it looks like Reeves is cooking up here.It was about time.
I mean i do love old school riddler dont get me wrong, but its about damn time we get a more intimidating one once in a while.
This is not traditional Riddler, but god damn im loving this one very much.
TIL the Riddler is a tragic hero in The Batman.. Almost like him and Bruce are two sides of the same coin. That first image of Dano has “I know what I have to become” written over and over. Which I love. It’s like he knows that in order to get rid of this high society evil, he’ll have to turn into something vial.
It reminds me of Bale when he tells Rachel he knows what he’ll have to become to stop a man like Joker. Which is why he decides to turn himself in so he can avoid becoming a murderer himself. This is more extreme with Riddler because in his opinion this corruption won’t die out unless he wipes them off the face of this earth and sends a macabre message while he’s at it. So this could mean that Edward wasn’t growing up to be some serial killer. He’s just damaged and has decided recently to murder these ppl.
That's a great way to look at it.Yeah, like Mr. Freeze. He was around before Heart of Ice, but it wasn't until that episode where they really found his character and it's pretty much become the source material ever since. This could be Riddler's Heart of Ice.
Yeah and to add to that, a masked serial killer. So just on a visual level it really separates him from Joker finally. It kinda makes him more like a slasher villain now which is pretty crazy.Riddler is my favorite Batman villain, but the problem with Riddler and why he doesn't have so many great stories is he's similar to the Joker. So making him into a serial killer is probably the best way to go with this character in general. That really separates him from Joker. I wouldn't mind if this becomes the definitive interpretation of him even in the comics.
I do think Riddler is even capable of being Batman's greatest foe, if not one of his greatest due to his sheer intelligence.
I think Riddler is going to rise in popularity across the board after this. I’m fine with campy Jokers and Riddlers but I think my best versions of both are going to focus more on the sinister/fear side, as is the case with most Bat-villains.Yeah and to add to that, a masked serial killer. So just on a visual level it really separates him from Joker finally. It kinda makes him more like a slasher villain now which is pretty crazy.
I’ve always said that Riddler is one of my least favourite villains but I have always loved the concept on paper I guess. The way his mind works, what he brings to the mythology from a brainier standpoint. It’s just that his look and sometimes his personality feels too goofy or like a Joker-lite sooo he’s always been a huge disappointment for me. This will no doubt be Riddler’s moment to stand out.
Yeah, he’s always been high profile while somehow still in the background to an extent without as many defining stories as you’d expect for such a well known villain.Yeah, I mean, Riddler is an iconic villain, but some of his most popular stories that are centered on HIM and not other rogues are fairly recent in the comics, considering how long he's been around. I definitely think this version could end up influencing more of those types of stories going forward.
