I'm interested in how Spider-Man defeats a Zoid by himself.

you haven't seen the old japanese spider-man tv show i gather? it just shows japan can turn anything into power rangers :P

Food for thought the old japanese spidey was the first and then ushered in super sentai so it was all because of spidey that power rangers exist today

I'll wait to see more before passing judgment, but that poster doesn't fill me with confidence.

Is that right? Odd that they would take spidey and think you know what's missing? He doesn't have a giant robot

Actually, its the other way around.

Supaidaman inspired Super Sentai, the japanese counterpart to Power Rangers.

That just looks like a giant tank. If that's his modes of transportation, I sincere hope he still has a combat suit at the very least.

I can get behind this if the tank is designed by Smythe, and Rhino is wearing a suit within the tank. This way we still get classic(ish) Rhino, and the introduction of the Spider-Slayer. I think that that's brilliant.

If, however, this is just a tank that a regularly clothed guy sits in and operates and that's all it is to it, I will be disappointed.

Just my two cents.

Why would anyone build a rhino mech as a spider slayer? Its not a natural enemy if a spider what so ever... And how exactly does a raming tank take down a guy who swings in the air and sticks to walls????

Given some of the set photos that have been released, which show Giamatti standing up while wearing the Rhino mocap suit, I'm going to guess that the suit can change modes. That might be a mode for moving around, but it can also switch into a more traditional battle mode.

... Or he's vertical inside a giant oversized rhino suit .. Which seems highly likely

this is the design i think its based on, judging by the red light connection

I am seriously going to try to hold off until I see more about it. I mean, maybe he gets on all fours at top speed but is like this when fighting. Or maybe he is just a prototype weapon in this film and the perfect it later.

^I hope so, because the thing thats supposed to be the Rhino on that poster is terrible.

Yeah it hit me in the same way, pretty hard too but I along with many others may want to just give it time to reserve judgement.

I still don't know what to think about this. I am not against the Rhino design, but I'm not crazy about it either. Need to see a HQ version of the image and I need to see it in motion.

Another thing I need to ask… is the poster official? Something about it feels like it is fan art. Sony went out of their way to take down all videos and photos of the story boards yet they put up a poster with the Green Goblin on it? Something is up.

If it was a fan poster I doubt they would take the liberty and make Rhino look like that, you know what I mean?

True. I just don't understand why they would put their "secret villain" (Green Goblin) on the poster after trying to cover it up.

Its also possible that this suit is a prototype that will change in The Amazing Spider-Man 3.

The more and more I thought about it, the more I thought to myself that the classic Rhino suit would never work on screen. The mechanized R.H.I.N.O. from USM could possibly work, but it would still need some modifications. So I guess I wouldn't consider myself disappointed when seeing this poster.

I have a feeling that Rhino will stand up to talk, and go on all fours to charge. He would be much faster on all fours, so I suppose that could have been the reason why Sony went in this direction.

maybe because he's not a secret villain.

And yes the poster is official I saw it in my theatre today.

It wouldn't be the first spider-slayer, it would just be designed by smythe. It would be the introduction to what we would later see as the spider-slayers. So we see that smythe is dabbling in crazy robotics, then he learns from whatever happens with Rhino's mech.
