Days of Future Past Peter Dinklage as Bolivar Trask - Official Thread

MODOK makes no sense because that character has absolutely nothing to do with DOFP or X-Men in general, really. It's just people trying to fit Dinklage into some box because of his height.

Not to mention, he would just be plain silly on screen.

messed up man:wow:

I would say he has questionable rights issues. I don't know who what studio has dibs on him
Does Fox even own Modok?
No idea, I was going with the idea someone said about him playing a scientist earlier in the thread.

No more sillier than the rest of the characters he could be playing that others have guessed.
As for not having anything to do with comic version of DoFP or X-Men in general doesn't really mean anything to me; Singer has changed characters inclusions before in his X-movies, and it works.

I'm still seeing him as Puck working with Wolvie in the 70s. :o

Modok Is an avengers villain.

Besides while It hasn't been officially announced all signs point to Peter Dinklage playing Boliver Trask.

Curious why everyone is as pumped about this guy as they seem to be. Last I saw him was on NipTuck and a few movies.

oh wait, there was some big genre project that gave him a PR boost recently wasn't there. Thank goodness this isn't 4 years ago. Hollywood is an interesting place.

Singer seems to be back in the hot circle again as well.

Variety says he's the 'main antagonist'.

I also doubt Fox has the rights to Puck.

Dude. Game Of Thrones.

I last saw him on Nip/Tuck where he was terrific. But I've definitely paid attention to his career since.

The show is amazing, not just him. You guys are sci-fi/fantasy/comic fans you should absolutely watch it!

And that he would be a "key role." I don't see many incidents where Puck was a key role. Even though Wolvie and Puck merc'-ing it up in the 70s would be awesome to see, especially with Dinklage in that role

Trask is a good possibility, but if he is playing Trask why not just say that? It seems very secretive to me, and it isn't like Trask is some surprise character. He makes a lot of sense with the Sentinels. It is interesting that Singer is being very secretive with the villain.

Bryan Singer can be very secretive with his projects. If your an older fan like me this Isn't anything new.

I seriously doudt Peter Dinklage Is playing Bantam. He's no major character.Just like some here were In denial when hints started coming up there were doing Days of Future Past
some as In denial that Peter Dinklage Is playing Boliver trask.

Dinklage won an emmy for Games of throne. Also remember It's hard for any show or film that falls In the genre catergry to win major awards. Some may also remember him from
Nip/Tuck season 4.Those shows are why people are excited by him being In film.

They would have to radically change him and combine with Fitzroy. I guess he could be Fitzroy or something. Not sure what other possibilities are out there unless he is playing the voice of Mastermold or Nimrod.

Whoever he is playing could be encased inside a robotic suit to become the big-screen adaptation of Mastermold or Nimrod (or even Bastion), making them human-controlled rather than AI.

It's difficult to tell because none of us would have guessed Kevin Bacon was playing Shaw, as he looked nothing like the character and seemed (based purely on appearance) to be more like Sinister.

FANTASTIC casting. Dinklage will soon sit alongside McKellen and Fox as the great X-Men antagonists.

Hoping MTV is correct. Dinklage as Trask is genius.

Is it weird that Trask was one of the first characters I thought he might be playing? I read an interview a few months ago where he said he's not a fan of playing roles where he'd have to be heavily made up (after Prince Caspian, he didn't want to be saddled with a big fake beard again), so the first thing I thought when I heard he was cast was that he'd playing the guy who created the Sentinels, or a character like it.

I feel like we haven't had a stand out villain since Cox in X2. Bacon was terrific, but hardly threatening. He was more charismatic.

Matthew Vaughn wanted Shaw to be a bond like villain.Shaw to me was a bit like Blofeld. The sad thing Is Kevin bacon seemed more like classic Bond villain In first Class
than villains In actual bond films since the reboot.Even though Skyfall Is first Bond film since the reboot to feel like a bond film It's villain was weak especilly comparing him to villains
like Dr No,Goldfinger, and Blofeld.Simple revenge In bond film Is kinda weak.

Bryan Singer took Stryker a villain who had been In 1 X-Men story changed him from revenged with military past to black ops officer and human face of antimutants In films.
He caused them to use Stryker more In comics. And has caused people view him as major character. Thus younger version In Origins and mention In First Class(and showing his father)

Revamping Trask as midget doesn't diservice his character. It creates irony that a midget would be antimutant and create giant robots(even though we might not actully see sentinles accept In future scenes) villain don't have to go mano on mano against hero.Stryker In X2 didn't.

Peter Dinklage as Trask Is just brillent casting.Like Ian Mckellen as Magneto and Brain Cox as Stryker.

They might also have him do voice of the sentinles.Like maybe to honor him the voice of their creator was given to sentinles for talking. Thus you have dinklage as trask In 1973 part of film and him as voice of sentinles In future part of film.

Also remember like Stryker Trask hasn't been In that many Issues of comics. He was killed off a couple of Issues later after ebing Intoduced and was later seen In flashbacks about his son and daughter.Plus he was brought In alive during AOA storyline.
