Why is there always this Dark Knight / Batman vs. Spider-Man debate?
What people are saying is simple: Make Spider-Man with the same care, accurate portrayal, and sensibility that was obviousbly shown with Begins and Dark Knight. Yes, that means some grittyness, this is the real world. It could be fantastical too. But treat the audience with intelligence, which I'm sorry, coincides with a real world grittyness, and treat the material with the utmost respect.
No to making Spider-Man brood, no every scene at night, etc. But no to simple paint-by-numbers plot and saving the same girl three times in three movies without incorporating more of the Spider-Man mythology and characters. It's what I just said is what people are aching for. Period.
