preview of "one more day" SPOILERS

Why do I miss them? For one, It's just one of those things that I wish they would bring back so certain fans would just shut up.

I always hated them because they always became a problem when he ran out or some bull, but you know what? Little as it may be, it brought something to the story. Added something. Comics today feel so short when you read them. But little things, like thought bubbles, web shooters, and more made the stories longer.

That said, it's weird coming from me because I'm apart of the "Nu Marvel." I love everything that they do today. Have you seen some of my "I love sins past" posts? I go against the majority, it's apart of my nature.

Now does that make you a rebel, or does that somehow show that you simply have bad taste?

peter doesnt use webshooters anymore? i guess this is what happens when you take 10 years off. =(

Because Peter would sometimes have to run from fights to get more web fluid. Now he'd just feel kind of dehydrated or something. Or nothing at all. They haven't really gone into the process of how he generates the webs.

I don't like the organics because they were absolutely, 100% unnecessary change brought about solely for the comics to more closely resemble the now more popular movie version. At this point, though, they're functionally identical to the webshooters so I don't really care about them anymore. I'm just glad Peter didn't develop them as a just-pubescent teenager like he did in the movie--thankfully, we comic readers managed to avoid the inevitable ******ed spooge metaphors and visual gags.

Exactly, there's no change in their function or anything. I haven't seen anybody complain about them in a long time. Seems silly to nowadays.

did he develop organics as a further mutation?

Again, it's the little things that add up. It's hard to explain.

If it has anythign to do with what Corps said about Peter having to flee from fights to get more webbing, then I'm more in favor of the organics than I was before. So, that puts me at 147% approval.

I'm on the same boat as you as I love the organics. But the web shooters is just something about peter that I miss. Like how he used to be doing science things all the time. Or when he fought Shocker. Or when, I don't know-- Things are just different now. When I read today's comics and read yesterday's, I can tell there's a big difference in the adventures. Not bad different, but different all the more.

healing factor? stingers, organic webbing, and the ability to carry things on his back...am i missing anything?

doesnt it seem like everyone has a healing factor these days?

ten bucks captain america's kicks into overdrive and brings him back.

especially given the events of Avengers: the initiative

I'll give you that. Peter is not as much of scientist as he used to be. That's something I miss as well. Reed, Tony, and both Hanks are given most of the credit as Marvel's top scientists while Peter and Bruce get the shaft.

well Peter is definetly marvel's best seamstress

It is just another example of marvel stripping away the sense of peril from their characters though. Like wolverine's healing factor. The idea that pete had to conserve his web fluid made fights more tense in the early years. It's the old thing that limitations force creativity out of the writers. If there's always the sense that pete could run out it forces him to use his brain more in a fight.

Also it cuts off more story options than pete simply having to run home and re-fill. What if the webshooters get damaged, what if he's got plenty for the fight but not enough to get home so he has to come up with some excuse for being late for work, etc... They're small things but they're part of what makes spider-man

Also it was a part of pete's powers that weren't just handed to him on a plate. He worked for his webs. Now everything pete can do is simply down to getting bitten by that spider. I liked the fact that he was(at least in part) a self made superhero.

Peter was never one of Marvel's top scientists. He's a genius and he has the potential to be a great scientist, but his life as Spider-Man has always kept him from it.

Bruce, similarly, is considered the world's foremost expert on radiation (I think), but the Hulk makes it kind of hard for him to function in any sort of civilized society, so he finds himself on the run most of the time. Kind of hard to be recognized as one of the leaders in your field when you're hitching a ride on some backroad in the Midwest.

He can run out of the organics. Real spiders can't just go around spinning webs all day. It has to be regenerated just like any other bodily fluid.
