Can I say something- I love the first two Alien movies, but I've noticed a trend in the AvP movies and the books and comics that I will term "xeno-*******"- I don't think the aliens are really a threat of any kind to any well trained and well armed military. In the first two movies, they were a threat to the characters, and that was all they needed to be. The first movie had one xenomorph against unarmed space truckers- and in Aliens, the Marines killed way more of them then the Aliens killed them They were mowing them down left and right, and it was only due to plot contrivances and incompetence that they didn't massacre the xenos.
I remember Ash called the Alien indestructible, and there was Ripley's rant about how if the Aliens got to Earth, everything would be gone, but that was just in-universe hyperbole. Take them off a ship, and they're really terrible weapons. I can understand the Company wanting to study them to learn more about them and build on what they already have. But the idea of th
Its like the makers of everything past Aliens couldn't accept that the Aliens were only a threat to the characters in the film and had to wank them out to make them a threat to all of humanity. Jason Voorhees doesn't need to be able to kill a whole town or state, just the characters in the movie(speaking of which, there was a Wildstorm F13 comic that had a squad of soldiers pouring bullets in him and he shrugged them off and instantly healed so he could kill them all. The above rant applies here).
I really really hope that if the Space Jockeys are out to kill us, its not them dropping their new weapon, the xenomorphs on us. I will be a little annoyed.
