I never once thought of anything sexual when it came to this franchise.
its not exactly sexual. its a metaphor for rape used as fear tactic, and in the realm of horror/fantasy we see that often. It plays on your mental idea of that fear in the real world, and its perverse but can you think of nothing worse other than being raped..besides suffering a painful death i suppose?...now try oral copulation by an alien that clearly exceeds the anatomical limits of the human body. the alien's nature is to lay eggs and it'll latch on to any lifeform it can to do so. it's goal is to grow in numbers and create infinite colonies of it's own species. like an army of ants or bees. protection of the queen and hive at all costs. Sexual is definitely not the word intended for the much debated idea that it is or isn't using rape as a metaphor. Because it is likely that the creatures of course do not understand beyond their own survival-instinct-based intelligence that oral copulation on a human will cause serious discomfort. But we as the viewer, know that its a crappy way to die for anyone unfortunate enough to come face to face with a xenomorph or face hugger. That amplifies the scary factor if you ask me, cause its so cringe-worthy.
