I was just wondering if you contacted those people.

I just e-mailed Hurd. We'll see. I just asked if they're still comitted to the project and if it's happening.

If you could take a few minutes out of your day and register at Superherohype and just post a note to the fans there too...and check in just a couple of times. There are so many thousands of members on that site that would instantly learn about yours and it would give the film a big boost from the fans here if you'd show up. Several actors and directors have done it and since you don't have a myspace forum it would be nice.

-Even if you just dropped in to say something short and that's it.

-Peace

Let's just hope he comes by. He said he is officially. He might just stop by and say hi to us but that's cool.

Is he sure he wants to do that....???? lol:up:

He's the one who convinced Avi to start Silver Surfer storyline in FF instead of a solo film so I'm happy as hell.

That's really cool of Tim Story to come here to SHH!

Now's it's just a matter of when. I'd imagine it'd be any day. He said he was registering already in his e-mail. Nice little comment above your avatar. LOL

The Car - My First Encounter
Current mood: optimistic

Al'ight. I'm in town for a couple of meetings (Translation: I'm over budget and something's gotta go) so they set it up for me to go visit the Fantasticar while it's being assembled (sp?). This car is the coolest thing I've ever seen. Not saying this because it's in my movie. (But there is obviously a bias) But it's cool. I mean this is like "the car from The Spy Who Loved Me" type of cool. You guys remember the one, white and went under water. (I might be saying the wrong movie, so forgive me, too excited) Anyway, the company, I'm dealing with built all the cool vehicles in a lot of big movies. Including a few batmobiles, and planet rovers from few space movies, blah blah blah, and the excitment from them is ridiculous. I mean, these guys build jets for the airforce.

I went to their top secret local way out in the middle of nowhere and when I walked in, I just couldn't believe my eyes. It's better than I imagined. Can't wait to shoot this thing. It doesn't get to us until late September but I can't wait to put our Fan4 inside. We (my production designer Kirk P.) also saw the models for the individual pods - once the Fantasticar spilts up. They are on schedule and preparing all the gadgets and circuit boards, blah blah blah.

I needed this visit. A little shot in the arm.

So they are doing the split thing with the Fantasticar, didn't expect that

I wonder what will have to go....maybe Story can convince Fox to let him have his way, considering the amount of money the original took in. I just hope that whatever was going to be in the movie and has to leave was nothing of significant importance (i.e. battle scenes, Doombots (one can dream, can't he), Latveria, etc.)

Still....awesome news about the Fantasticar

Me either. That will be an audience-pleaser if they do it right, though.
The kids'll eat that right up.

Apparently they've used the old "flying bathtub" model quite recently...

It's gonna be cool. BTW he will be posting here for sure any day now. :) Not sure if it'll be in this thread or if he'll create his own though but it'll be in this forum.

Are they really going to call it the "Fantasticar"?
Well, that's what it's been called since 1962; what would you suggest?

Maybe they won't call it by name in the film because of that inherent dopiness. Come to think of it, I can't recall anyone referring aloud to "the Batmobile" in Batman Begins.
There was actually a "Spidermobile" for a few issues back in the mid-seventies, but taht was pretty much a joke to begin with.
There was even a "Supermobile" that appeared off and on for quite some time. Corgi even made a die-cast miniature of it at one time.

And of course the Avengers have their Quinjet and the X-Men have their Blackbird. For some reason they weren't saddled with the requisite dopey names...

I'm betting they openly embrace that wonderful Lee/Kirby dopiness, and call the thing what it's always been: The Fantasti-car.:ff:

well that's what I meant. Are they going to call it by name in the film. The Tumbler comparison is a good example. And in X-men they just simply called it the jet. Hopefully, the 'Fantasticar' will be a prototype and be called a different name. I dunno something like the Hover Craft or something.
