Eternals Rotten Tomatoes watch thread

Bad movies that are generally seen as bad but are “certified fresh” critics rating on rotten tomatoes:

Sausage Party
Superman Returns
The Amazing Spider-Man
Indiana Jones And The Crystal Skull
Avatar

Just saying this because at the end of the day RT doesn’t really matter. I hardly know anyone who uses it to determine whether or not they go and watch a movie or not.

I feel like we're going in circles, but you can't say it's a completely accurate number if not all reviews have aggregated scores. It's not like metacritic.
There's no such thing as a completely accurate number unless you survey every person on the planet. That's why polls have margins of error.

However, the bigger the sample size the smaller the margin of error. There's no reason to think that reviews without a score aren't normally distributed and include above average scores, below average scores, and scores around average. We'd have to calculate a standard deviation but a lot of critics are saying similar things.

It may fall on one side or another of an arbitrary 60% number, but I feel safe saying it's going to end up in this general range of overall score no matter how many reviews don't have scores. The sample size is pretty large already.

I mean even Pixar(which has a similar winning streak with critics) has a rotten film as Cars 2 has a 40% RT score, and they returned to form with certified fresh movies. No Way Home will absolutely get good critics reviews.
Yeah piXar has 2 rotten movies, though it took more films for Marvel Studios to get a rotten rating movie.

Avatar is certainly not considered bad. It has an 82% audience score and a 7,8 on imdb.
It feels like it’s generally hated online.
Back to 60 %!
So this movie is just going to alternate between being rotten and just being barely fresh, eh? Not much cause for celebration if you ask me. I guess when it’s all said and done the movie RT score will ultimately be between the high 50’s and low 60’s range which…isn’t all that good. The movie currently has an average critic rating 5.90 which is actually lower than the likes of Thor Dark World which had average rating of 6.

I think people hate Avatar for being the highest grossing film of all time...While being considered just okay as a movie (personally I think the film is great, although far from my favorite Cameron), though I have no data to back that up.

Yeah, even I was hating it a bit when it was released because of that. I've come to appreciate it more as years passed by.

If this somehow settles at 63% or 62%.

The MCU's RT streak lives eternal.

Anyway this is the third cbm of recent times that is a point away from a rotten or fresh rating. Ww84, Venom 2 and this.

I know you're being sarcastic. But the real response is, after 1 film they made a movie that wasn't universally loved.
Neither IM2 or nor Thor The Dark World were universally loved, MARVEL SURVIVED! And I would even say that they are STILL THRIVING!

WW84 wasn't rotten?
That proves that I don't follow RT.
Because, I always assumed that it had a rotten score.

WW84 has a 58% as of now, so yes it's rotten

Oh wow, I thought it was in the 60s. Oh well, it makes sense that it's a rotten :oldrazz:

So…the highest this movie can get up to is a 60%. That’s barley fresh. The film might finish off between a high rotten score percentage and low fresh score. That’s not great.

59% again with 137 reviews counted. This movie’s score loves keeps diving down 59% and rising up 60%. It’s honestly nail-biting in a way. Does it stabilize as a fresh film or does it stay at rotten? We’ll know in a few days!

Shame the score is struggling for 60% :csad:

Any rando can start up a blog and become a verified RT "critic" apparently

Incorrect. I've been writing reviews for years for a website, and I've been rejected by Rotten Tomatoes multiple times.

So there's really no reason to lose sanity over this.
