Eternals Rotten Tomatoes watch thread

Nothing is impossible, but I think this is unlikely. At this point, Shang-Chi has 312 reviews. Eternals has 200 now. As more come in, it takes more reviews to effect the percentage. I can see the reviews continue to trend negative, but I would be shocked if it is over 5% at this point. Math simply makes that more difficult as we go

Black Widow has over 400. So I'd say it's more than possible and highly likely at this point. The amount will increase after the digital VOD and Blu-ray releases as well. Some publications only focus on the home video releases.

Black Widow was also a D+ release at same time.. NTTD has 354, Venom 2 has a meager 236, etc. So I don't see Eternals getting as many as Black Widow. Probably will be more similar to Shang-Chi in that regard

Eternals is a much bigger release than Venom 2. Venom 2's amount will also likely increase after its released on streaming and home video.

But it's release is smaller than NTTD, which got release in China. That has 354. I think Shang-Chi is closer example to Eternals than NTTD. So it will have fewer than 350.

On the topic of reviews once it hits streaming and such, sure. I am sure it will add those and get the random few reviews every year. That happens with like...all movies. But changes to the meter at that point are kind of irrelevant because it is way after release.

Very cringe of IGN to do. lol

The way it twitches between 52-53% at 210 reviewers I think chances of it turning fresh right now are pretty low.

Back down to 52% with 210 reviews.

I can't believe this has a real possibility of hitting 50%

It is definitely far from Mcu's previous RT low of 65%.

Already has a lower rating than the likes of X3, Spider-Man 3, Hulk 2003, Man of Steel, Wonder Woman 1984, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Blade 1 & II and The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

I haven't even seen Eternals but I can confirm it's not worse than WW84

I never in a million years would think a MCU would get reception as bad as this. At worst, I’ve always figured a Marvel film would alway get middling reception like Thor: The Dark World and just get in the mid-60’s. This…is something else.

If it ends up in the 40s, it will join X-Men Apocalypse and Daredevil as the only Marvel movies to score in the 40s.

I don't think it'll hit 40%. It seems to be edging between 51-52% now. I'd say bottom would be 49%.
