I picked up the BD of the first Scream earlier and will get the ones for 2 and 3 soon, I only had money for one but next week I should be able to afford the other two.

Mostly because I got the DVD's for all of them and they weren't flagged for 16x9 TV;s.

So I'm watching 4x3 letterboxed versions since.

So niiiiiiiiice to have them take up the whole screen now. lol

So my sister just got back form Vegas, and looky looky who they ran into:

They said they were at some club in Vegas, and there was a reserved booth, and my dumb ass drunken sister goes and sits down in it, and who is sitting there, but Neve Campbell. Just thought that was funny.
(By the way, my sister is the one on the end kind of squatting down becasue apparently everyone is under 5'5.)

This movie is very necessary, probably more so than Scream 2 or 3.

How so? Part 2 was a commentary on how sequels suck. Part 3 wrapped up the series very well (I personally found Roman being the long lost psychotic half brother a rather far fetched choice for the killer, but I digress).

So how, if the entire story is satisfactorally wrapped up, can a 4th movie be necessary? Please explain.

It's a new decade. The mssg and themes portrayed in Scream 4 are RELEVANT to the TIMES and not JUST about continuing the story from the first 3 films. I thought that was pretty obvious.

Well maybe if they kill off Duey, Gail, and Sydney I could see a need for a 4th film, especially if they kill of Ghost Face #4 too. But from what I've read on this thread, they're already planning a 5th movie. That kinda shoots that theory all to Hell.

Very true, but I have a feeling it'll happen. If this does become a new trilogy, I don't expect SIdney to survive 2 more films after this one.

When I saw that, I thought to myself - well, if you've never seen Scream 1,2,3 guess the "mystery" of them living is gone.

I understand marketing to the target audience - but make that a Special Feature and leave it at that. Don't force peeps to watch that trailer. Yeesh.

Any other movie - sure. But for this specific franchise? Come on now.
