Scream 4!!!!!

Dewey, Gale, and Sid all had their chances to be killers. That chance was Scream 2, when they were all still the good guys. Then yeah, it'd have been believable, now, not so much at all.

Scream 2 could have had Gale as the killer because her book sales were through the roof when the murders initially were a hot press topic, but as the movie came around the press started to turn to other events, and Gale couldn't have that, her movie would flop, and she'd be stuck on some lame entertainment show. The only option? Spark up some new murders with Dewey. Dewey wants revenge for Tatum. Gale wants fame and money.

Scream 2 could have had Sidney as the killer having snapped and acting out a mimicry of her life events, but it didn't.

Now they have no reasons to pick up a knife and murder anyone. Sid's wrote her book, Dewey's the Sheriff of the town he loves, he's married to the woman he loves, Gale might be the only slightly logical one, considering she's apparently gotten bored and is writing all those books. But even then it'd just feel cheap, why terrorize a young girl she eventually became fond of? Let alone one that her husband thinks of like a sister.

Hey kickass, does Mary McDonnell have a decent sized role in it?

Don't think any of the main three will be the killer. it goes against the whole premise of the "new rules". The unexpected is the new cliche. However, is it now considered "expected" that one of the three is in fact the killer? O boy lol. No but in all seriousness I don't think any of them will be the killer, nor get killed. And I havnt seen any spoilers so this is just my opinion. But I think the killers will be emma roberts character and on of the film nerds. The Culkin kid I think. Can't friggin wait to see this. There's also the possibility the killer or one of the killers could be a lesser character. A la "Debby Salt." Sooo many possibilities. After watching all three yesterday with ma lady, I'm most excited to see where they take dueys character.

^^
Yeah, I have a failing the Culkin kids is the killer as well. I've got a weird vibe.

I think Culkin and Sid's cousin, Jill, are the killers. I can't see none of the killers not having some kind of personal connection to Sid.

Meh. She's in it for about 5 minutes. I think 3 or 4 scenes. I wish she was in it more, actually.

Ok, so I saw it last night in Toronto. let me just say the crowd loved it; there was cheering and laughter and some jumps. I love the ending credits. And Neve Campbell was there and she did a Q&A after the movie and is a real doll. Very personable and gorgeous in real life!

So the movie? I'll include spoilers in spoiler tags but I don't have a lot of time to write this haha.

First off, this is the best Scream film since the first. hands down. Anyone who has read my posts here should know by now I am not a very big fan of Scream 2, and even though it's an unpopular opinion, I really couldn't care less. Scream 3 was always much more watchable and enjoyable than Scream 2. Having that said, this new film BLOWS both of them out of the water.

Like Scream because of it's references and puns and inside humour? Good, because this film probably had more of that than all of the previous 3 combined. It was clever, smart, fast-paced, and extremely entertaining.

The opening was hilarious. The audience laughed and clapped. You'll see.
The finale? Genius. Some people may hate who the killer is............but it makes complete sense and is without question RELEVANT to our times. I don't want to give it away, obviously, but I can't see how anyone would think not. I really can't. The entire film is a pun to what's going on in Hollywood today, as well as the Screamverse.

Things I didn't like?

The kills were boring for the most part. Just stab! and then they're dead. Kinda like Scream 3 but with more blood. Olivia had the best death scene, I'd say.

I also feel that there wasn't enough Ghostface. We get to see him a lot but it's only for a few seconds at a time. We never get to spend any brooding time with him as he stalks his victims.

Rebecca (who play's Sidney's assistant) is completely useless. And hammy. I mean, Sid fires her and she's in the elevator talking to herself for christ sakes. "She'll come back, they always come back. I'm the best assistant she's ever had. You'll see" kind of talking to herself. Must of been Ehren's writing LOL.

But my BIGGEST complaint is about Kirby (Hayden Panettiere). She was one of the best characters in the film and they ****ing killed her off! Not just that, her death scene was so lame and anti-climatic! She gets stabbed in the gut twice and that's it! It really brings the film down for me, I'm really not kidding. She should have lived, and if they wanted to kill her, they should have killed her in an epic way! UGH!! It really upsets me. They should have had her wheeled out in the end like they did with Dewey in Scream 1 & 2!!! :(

All in all I'd give it a 4/5.

I saw the film as well but I'd like to add

If u look closely at Kirby, you see her breathing slightly after she is stabbed after running out the back door. I took it was them leaving her fate open ended for a sequel. Or maybe Hayden just screwed up but I hope it was on purpose.

I liked it. But the ending screwed it up for me actually.
I thought they left her fate open and would have just mentioned her possibilly living in the final cut. Cause showing her breathing has to mean something or they could have just showed her not breathing. Scream 5 makes no sense to me. Bringing in an entire new cast is stupid since they could have used survivors from this film. Kirby was AMAZING and would have been a great Sid replacement. My friends didn't like the ending either cause ofhow the teens ended up. I agree though. If they wanted to kill her then at least kill her in an epic way like Tatum from S1 I loved her 2 but her death was at least epic.

But beside this complaint good movie. Favs were Kirby and Robbie. Was a bit dissapointed scenes were missing that were shown in the tv spots.

I watched Scream 3 this weekend and while I really enjoyed it there is one thing that bothered me. The death with the fax machine. I suppose you could say the killer messed with the fuse box but didn't take out the power but How was he sending a fax? From Dewey's trailer? Also the gas trick wouldn't of worked if the guy used a keychain light which Jennifer had. It's just an odd scene to me.

^^ Eh, those things never really bothered me. I'd always put it in the back of my head.

I just hated that a whole house blew up and no one spoke of it afterwards, like it wasn't a big deal...

The first is on TBS right now. It's got about five minutes left.

I was wondering about Jill's fall on the glass table.Maybe someone stabbed/shot her and she falls i can clearly see some mark near her shoulder and shes hurt her face on one side. Why are people saying she will make herself fall on a glass table :wow: ..She can always stab herself if shes psycho..is it something to do with the rules have changed now you dont just stab but do something creative and then Sid says dont **** with the original and kills her.

I'm not giving anyone any (more) info. I have ppl begging me now lol, and that's just childish.

Well one of the detectives says to Dewey "you were almost charcoal " last night but I know what you mean. I watched the Scream 3 with commentary and they admit that it was rushed.
I was always wondering how Randy's sister got on set ( I was thinking maybe she could of been a film adviser about woodsboro) but they basically say they didn't have much time to explain it. Also the thing with Roman's pulse in the coffin was initatially explained by him but they removed it so the scene would flow better.
I was surprised to find out one of the best scenes in the movie - Sid's return to Woodsboro-was written on set.

I think Sid looks so much better in 4 than she did in 2 or 3. I hate the short hair on her, and the fact that she basically wears the exact same wardrobe in 3 that she wore in 2.

I thought she looked gorgeous with short hair in 2:

But I agree I don't think it looked as good in 3:

It was a little strange they had her in virtually the same clothes she wore for the finale of 2. Though I liked the touch of her still wearing the letters necklace Derek gave her.

It's great seeing Sid with long hair again from what's been seen of her in 4 so far. Though Neve is naturally very beautiful, she's one of those women were the hair length makes a night and day difference with her appearance. IMO, she looks worlds better with long hair and looked far better in the first Scream than she did in 2 and 3, and it's awesome to see her back with long hair in 4.

Yeah, I do like the necklace as well.

Is the 4th film in the Halloween series highly regarded? I wonder if history will repeat the same thing with the Scream franchise.
