Superman & Lois Season 2, Episode 3: "The Thing in the Mines" (SPOILERS)

Very please Bizarro is the villain and not Doomsday.

All right, finally watched it. Not gonna lie, kind of disappointed with the fake out. Sue me, I enjoy Doomsday, and was looking forward to Reign of the Supermen. That said, I trust the writers to do a good story. And this version of Bizarro looks great. Can't wait to see what they do with him.

The rest of it was great. I loved the bits with Clark lashing out, the responses felt very believable. And of course Jordan is a stupid teenager who thinks he wants to marry his first girlfriend. Its silly, stupid, but very real. And I am enjoying Sarah and Lana together, as it seems it was mostly Sarah and Kyle last season. And good to see Nat fitting in with the boys more.

Really, really not thrilled with the look they went with Ally Allston. Way too much like Reniere.

I dug the episode and I love Bizarro, so I am happy. That said, the fake out kind of annoys me. It was unnecessary.

Papa Lane is cracking me up. He quit his job to be a family man, and just continues to be the worst at it. :funny:

The one thing that I never got about Bizarro is that if he's supposed to be the complete opposite to Superman, then shouldn't all of his powers reflect that? For example, he should be super slow, super weak, very fragile, with no power to fly.

Granted, I have read about him having fire breath as opposed to freeze breath.

I think the flame breath and cold vision will be retained for this version, based on his eyes glowing blue. Unless I'm mistaken, in the comics that's a fairly recent-- late 90's/early 00's-- development, one they've been a bit inconsistent on.

I always thought it was more like a warped mirror image or a flawed duplicate rather than the exact opposite. Like there is some basic stuff that's the same, and other stuff that's bizzare.

That's why he's more complicated that just an 'evil' version of Superman. He's not evil, he's just... odd :funny:

Plus he can't be totally opposite because it'd probably be pretty weird to watch Superman beat up a deaf, blind and mute guy. :P
