I thought the idea was that Jon wasn't attacked. I did not realize you meant that weren't specifically targeting him from the get go. I didn't get it because that seems strange considering how the fight plays.that is exactly what i said lol
oh shut up. I'll buy you a beer later. we're fighting here.![]()

Shifting to Meereen, we get a triple-dragon action sequence, which we’ve never had before. What were your goals for that sequence and how tricky was it to do an action scene with three virtual dragons?
Well it helps having Joe Bauer and Steve Kullback (VFX supervisor and producer). The dragons are really their baby so after you previz it and shoot the live action elements it’s really a case of turning it over to them and watching what they turn out.
For this sequence David and Dan said that what they wanted to see was a “demonstration” of what’s to come. So I tried to approach it in the most elegant, epic, big-movie way I could.
the people thinking Littlefinger is in control, Sansa is becoming a player.
She had credibility before all of the gathered Lords deliberating Lysa's death. She wouldnt be asking anything of them, just giving them information that would precipitate its own reaction.
Littlefinger's hold on the Vale is dependent on keeping those Lords and Robyn in line. If Robyn and those lords learn the truth, he's finished. They don't like him and they will take her word over his.
The Lord of Light did not tell Melisandre to bring back Jon. She did that because Davos asked her to try, she had given up.
Man, the last 13 episodes are going to be insane if that Battle of Fire was just a demonstration of what these dragons are going to be doing in the final episodes of the show.
Kind of makes me glad they are doing 13 episodes instead of 20. Now they can pour the resources of 20 episodes into 13 episodes which means bigger vfx spectacle. This show is likely going to go out with one of the biggest bangs in television history
Yeah, just gonna have to whole-heartedly disagree there. When Jon was getting crushed under that wall of bodies, I could barely breathe myself. No other ep of this show ever got to me like that. And I never got into the "tragic love story" of Jon and Ygritte, so that did nothing for me, lol. The scene of Davos at Shireen's pyre got to me far more. And the quiet moment of triumph when the Stark flag replaces the Bolton one had me wanting to stand up and applaud. But just in terms of filming the battle itself, I just felt this one (AND "Hardhome") had much more cinematic flair and atmosphere than "Watchers on the Wall" (though that's my #4 so I still love it). As great as Neil Marshall is, Miguel Sapochnik is officially my new GoT directing MVP.
Oh yeah, I thought that was a great touch.a great contrast for me showed when Davos restrained his archers because he was afraid of killing his own men, while Ramsay just had them keep firing away, not caring if the shot his army or Jon's.
anyone else think Wildfire is gonna make an appearance soon Tyrion name dropped it with his convo with Dany and i think it might be the "rumor" Cersei and Qyburn spoke of last week
so who technically is the Lord of Winterfell right now? Sansa? Jon?
and i wonder why Jon didn't correct Ramsay when he accused him of breaking his vow to the night watch. Ramsay said he's heard things about Jon, about being an amazing swordsman, but i guess people don't know he died right? unless they were there?
