Clearly, Beast's face was that of a billy-goat in SWORD.

Honestly, it was kind of growing on me, too.

Seriously though, I do miss ape Beast. I wonder if people had this much trouble adjusting to blue furry Beast when they evolved him originally?

well i like that the changed him to the cat. Whenever I look at that version ll the head reminds me of is blue Wolverine

Ditto. Going back to fuzzy blue ape Beast would be too predictable. Have him go all the way back to human and suddenly he loses the deep sorrow he was portrayed as having in Whedon's AXM and other places because of his appearance, along with his feelings of intellectual inadequacy for both being the cause of it and lacking the ability to cure it. That's a seismic shift for the character that could lead to some interesting stories.

You know, if he doesn't just become another face in the X-crowd after SWORD goes.

But Brand has this fetish thing because of his blue fur...she's sort of a furry...so in his human form he would mope since she would leave him for Tigra or something.

It took me a while to get used to cat beast but it really depended on who was drawing it. I couldnt stand Quietly's cat Beast but i loved Cassaday's. I say they might as well keep him this way. It gives him a certain level of sophistication as opposed to the ape beast from the 90's.

He just hides it well. People don't just become okay with feeling like they're disfigured freaks. They deal with it and cover it up and focus on other things that make them feel all right about themselves, but it still sits at the center of them festering forever, unless the perceived disfigurement physically goes away.

Could be a new costume. In fact, I'd kind of expect one after all the crap Wanda's been through. Fresh start = new look; that's how it usually goes in comics.

The new Avengers line launches in, what, May? I'm sure we'll know more within a few weeks or a month at most. Marvel's gotta get all the hype information out to retailers so they can order 3 months before the ship date.

I know I know. thats the thing that sucks about this kinda hype though. They're silhouettes when they reveal the actual team it could suck.
