Doc Ock said:Well that's Marvel for you. Always taking the shameful and easy way out. When the cheap shock value has worn off, they find a quick and easy cheap fix to the mess they made.
In this case, Ock not knowing Spidey's identity when he returned, so they could return their relationship to the way it always was, because they had foolishly thought fans would not mind Ock being dead. WRONG!!! They had to bring him back post haste.
A female Octopus is no substitute for Octavius.
Well, I wouldn't have minded if Doctor Octopus had stayed dead. There are plenty of past stories with him...it's not like he was a new character, haha.
But, yeah, it was a dumb decision. Just like the resurrection of Aunt May was a really dumb decision.
And going back on their original plan of having Ben Reilly be the one true Spider-Man. That was a dumb decision, in my opinion. But that one I will give them a little credit. The fans freaked out and they gave them, basically, what they wanted in the end. But I was a Ben fan, and it saddened me.
