I'd just like to point out that both Sharon AND Wanda are included in the airport fight set from LEGO....

Also, hoping nothing got cut from the final film... but these are the scenes we should expect Sharon in (not sure if I am missing anything) spoilers...

- Peggy's Funeral
- Date/lunch with Steve (photographed on set)
- Interrogation room / Bucky escape fight
- Meeting undercover Cap and giving him files
- She's been interviewed wearing a black leather jacket and jeans so hopefully that's from another scene
- Her outfit from all the merchandise and promo pics, hopefully meaning she plays a part in the airport battle and/or the end battle
- Her kiss with Steve

I really hope her role or presence in the film is large enough that Hot Toys decides to make a figure of her.

So? A LEGO set for Iron Man 3 has Iron Man fighting Mandarin in some sort of drone contraption. And it's the LEGO figurine of the fake Mandarin.

I would love her to get a Hot Toys, but I don't think she will. It'll probably be limited to the Avengers characters, Spidey, and Black Panther. From the tweets I've seen, her role/presence isn't really that big, just that she's better utilized in CW than in TWS.

I just want to know why every character in this franchise can get a romance in their sequels except Captain America?

Because the Russos despise Sharon with every fibre of their being

It was the Russos who wanted to do Civil War. The Russos wanted to take the character to the next level. It had nothing to do with DC. I think you're projecting a little.
Because DC was going to do BvS in order to compete with Marvel b.o. wise. Then explain why M&M was disproportionately excited for Sharon because of how "meaty" she is way back in 2011 only to have a glorified cameo in TWS 2014? Again M&M talked up Sharon for Cap 3 then afterwards Feige and Russos were only potentially thinking about doing Civil War around the Age of Ultron? It's obvious deduction.

The only dog I have in this fight is that I find Hayley Attwell a FAR superior actress than EVC. I still say they should have just cast Hayley in the part, changed her hair color, etc. After all, Peggy and Sharon were supposed to have looked exactly the same, in the comics. She could have pulled it off.
That's unfair because Hayley is a FAR superior actress than ScarJo, Gwyneth, and Cobie too. EVC played a good Agent 13-esque character in Revenge so maybe that's what Marvel wanted. And casting Hayley as Sharon would make Steve seem creepy. It's like he only dated Sharon because she looks EXACTLY like Peggy which is unfair to Sharon.

Anyway, as to the above, the sidelining of Sharon was from the very beginning. They took FOREVER to cast that part, and curiously, never seemed to really commit to either the actress or the character, which is highly unfair to Miss VanCamp.
From EVC's Marvel interview back in 2013/2014 she alluded to the other actresses that auditioned to failing the romantic screen chemistry test with Evans. I agree with EVC because from the Evans movies I've seen he hardly shares romantic chemistry with his leading ladies except for Chyler in NATM, I thought they had great chemistry. With Hayley, Scarjo, Alice, and co., it came across as more platonic. Personally I find EVC/Evans adorable together and they look great together too.

I don't know if Sharon was ever wasted, so much as the actress didn't "pop" onscreen, and Peggy cast a long shadow. The Sharon/Cap relationship in the comics was always kind of clinical and passionless. She was his main love interest, but can anyone really say that she was an important character in her own right? Any story function she may have embodied, could have been filled with any number of other characters.
Personally EVC popped for me, but everyone's opinions differ. It didn't help that she only got 3 mins.

Marvel's casting choices have been across the board outstanding, so its curious to me that such a charisma free actress landed that role. Each of the characters you mention above, are played by really, really good actors, and each made the most of their roles. Peggy, Pepper and Hope were the leading ladies of their respective films, while Anthony Mackie is the bomb.
Disagree. I think Marvel's first choice Emily Blunt would've made a far far superior Black Widow. Black Widow, Hawkeye and Maria Hill are miscast too. I'd say EVC is on par with Evangeline Lily's acting where both came from TV backgrounds.

I thought Sharon popped as well, but I am a fan of the actress and was hoping she'd have a larger role.

I don't think screentime was cut due to the actress at all, I think it was cut to fit in other characters, which is a shame IMO since the other characters have other films to shine in.

Maybe it was also cut because Nat, Hill, & Sharon were all spies hence playing similar spy roles and they opted to highlight spy Nat and didn't want any overlap.

Yeah Sharon popped for me because around the time TWS was released I was being a dork and kept annoying friends/family with this line and gesture when we were waiting in line for something or if I was behind them.

As much as I've waited to hear something, that's not great.
Yeah I know, I'm hoping she didn't spoil everything. And I thought Cap gave her a call after TWS events. Why didn't Steve call her!?

[BLACKOUT]So she's working in Germany for the accords. She sees Cap for the first time since TWS at Peg's funeral in the beginning of CW where she gives the eulogy. Cap finds out she's the grand niece. She's the double spy that helps him feeding him intel. There's no intense scene with Sharon, only fun scenes. That one Bucky fight scene. And she might not return for IWs[/BLACKOUT] Even Maria Hill played a bigger part in the MCU :whatever:.

Do you guys think we will see her in her outfit from all the promo photos? It's odd that Disney has used her in the outfit in A LOT of merchandise and some figures and we haven't seen her wear it in live action yet.

This is basically her "outfit" without the black jacket. Da daaa! I mean at least give her a cool dark grey jacket instead of a black one to differentiate her clothing from the other Marvel female characters who all wear black jackets. Also EVC looks so pretty in Cap blue at that team IM panel.

Oh boy, I wonder if she will even use her weapon they have been promoting her with.

I'm holding out hope she plays a part in one of the battles. I would even take her in the background doing something important while everyone is fighting.

So, she is literally there only to be someone to prove that Steve is not gay and is still interested in girls!:lmao: I guess all this plot with Bucky is too intense, so they needed insurance.

God, and I thought that Bruce-Nat romance was shoehorned. But we now have a whole NEW RECORD! He didn't call her after TWS, but when he discovered, that she's Carter... BOOM!! 10 minutes of screentime after Peggy's funeral! BRAVO, Marvel!

Well that's what I'm hoping, that the lego airport set comes true and that she's not in that one Bucky fight.

Did she mention all that? I'm on the train with no headphones so I can't watch, but read some excerpts on tumblr.

She says she follows her heart over her head, which is pretty much the opposite of Sharon's character.

She's loyal to Steve to the point of risking her job, but why? Is it because Peggy did? That's not gonna help the claim she's Peggy 2.0

Yes, and a bit more that I forgot. Oh and she really likes Lizzie Olsen.

She says she follows her heart over her head, which is pretty much the opposite of Sharon's character.
I didn't catch that, but if she did WTF? Sharon's all about Duty Over Love!!! Oh wait, that's right this was another thing that was taken over by Scarjo/BW/Joss when she mentioned it around the AoU promo interviews, something about BW choosing duty over love when she let Hulk fly off in AoU.

She's loyal to Steve to the point of risking her job, but why? Is it because Peggy did? That's not gonna help the claim she's Peggy 2.0
Edit: Because they have the same moral compass which is why Sharon finds herself loyal to Cap. Duty over Love.

As always, coming to this thread was a mistake. Feels like the only thing that happens here is people complaining about Sharon's role as if they have already seen the film...

There is also this
"It's refreshing to see Captain in a more intimate situation."- @EmilyVanCamp speaking of her on screen kiss with Cap #CaptainAmericaEvent link

If they share a moral compass then she should be doing it because she thinks it right for reasons other than it being what Steve thinks.

Like maybe she agrees Bucky isn't to blame, or she wants who turns out to be Zemo to be taken down.
