Should Jean Grey be brought back?

Discussion in 'Marvel Comics' started by Marvelmaster, Apr 1, 2006.

  1. Hello, I'm new here and I'm looking for some raw data from this vast board of knowledge. Recently, Joe Quesada announced that there are no plans to bring back Jean Grey.

Now setting aside what you may think of this, I would like to know how many of you think Jean Grey should be brought back in the 616 universe. After Phoenix Endsong, should she be brought back? Should she come back? Please let me know!

No. THey never should have brought her back after the Dark Pheonix saga to begin with.

NO NEVER LEAVE HER AS DEAD AS UNCLE BEN. Theres no place for her anymore.

  4. Yes, Phoenix should be brought back after a little while. The problem is that she is far and away probably the most powerful character in comics. As such, it is hard to find any real challenges for her to battle.

I think the Pheonix Force should come back, but minus Jean. Make it bond with somebody else. A new character. They shoulda did that from the start if they wanted the Pheonix Force back so badly.

A lot of ppl think the hooded figure in Astonishing X-Men is her. It would definitely make sense.

Look what it really comes down to is once you start calling a character the Phoenix, she's gonna come back from the dead.

Would you call a character Hercules and not have him be really strong? No, cause that would be stupid.

So you're not gonna call a character Phoenix and have her not come back from the dead.

True. While I might not like it, I'm well aware that her return is inevitable.

But wasnt it established in Endsong that the Phoenix Force is a part of Jean?

Yes. Both Morrison and Endsong firmly established that Jean is the true Phoenix, as was originally the case as Claremont intended in the Phoenix Saga before all of the cloning force coccoon retcons whatever made a mess out of everything. Jean and the Force are instrinsically tied in that they are two parts that make up the true, ultimate form of White Phoenix of the Crown.

I realize that her return is inevitable...but, it's just always so poorly handled. I mean, seriously, how many times can she go evil? Why does anyone even care anymore? It's no longer a story...it's a retelling of a retelling of a story that was interesting once.

Bring her back. I really don't care. Just stop freakin' killing her off if you do!

They need to quit bringing her back in minis and X-Men story arcs.

If your gonna bring Jean back it needs to be during one of these big Marvel Events, where everybody in the Marvel Universe needs to be involved not just the X-Men.

Why would the Avengers, Fantastic Four just leave it up to the X-Men

I think she should be brought back but just as Jean Grey - no phoenix stuff. That's been done.

Its been stated on meany occasions that Phoenix IS pretty much Jean Grey, herself.

Phoenix copied JG so well, that she is actually her, but with the Phoenix Force.
