Silent Hill: Revelations

Why is Pyramid Head there AGAIN. Stupid popular monsters. I wouldn't have a problem if he was used for what he actually meant in Silent Hill 2. Still, this looks great so far, definitely looking forward to this. Hope they don't go all christian cult again though.

I hated that whole "witch burning" thing. Pissed me off. There was no need to add that. The story was fine the way it is. And apparently they've added it again because the Hypester that lives near where they are filming. Why?

As different as the plot is for the movie I don't really mind Pyramid Head being in the movie.

and what exactly did pyramid head mean for silent hill 2? im liking that it seems they are at least acknowledging the first one happened and arent just doing a separate film in the same places. im hoping they will explain his existence in this one where it wont ruin his involvement in part 1

It symbolized James (the main character)'s subconscious feeling that he needs to be punished for what he's done. Not gonna say what that is because you need to play the games.

sorry still can't get over the fact they had to try and make dalia sympathetic. ****ing stupid move

the whole reason i asked was because i was curious about his involvement in the games, im not going to play them so i guess if you arent going to explain then i'll find another way...

Fine,
James killed his wife Maria but doesn't remember when he first goes to Silent Hill. Pyramid Head is a symbol of his subconscious desire for punishment for his crime. Any game he was in after that he was just forced in because he was popular

I haven't finished any of the games past The Room, does he at least still have some sort of executioner role in other games?

Most of the time he's just there to be there because people liked him in SH2. In Homecoming he's just in the background walking around. It's stupid.

I think he might be one of the few characters that isn't a product of a characters psyche so I guess it does make sense to put him in other games.

Okay it's been several months on any info or news, does anyone have updates?

I would have liked to see more new demonic characters for the next film. Pyramid made some a strong visual statement in the first film, it seems overkill to see it again, either way, i'm excited for this.

no release date? :(

nothing I found on movies released in 2012 has Silent Hill on it

quote from Producer Dan Carmody from Dec.
"Carmody told us the picture is locked. They are now working on the sound and score and talking with Lionsgate about a release date. The producer added that he is hoping for either a late spring or early fall release."

Featuring an unparalleled horror experience, Konami’s Silent Hill franchise has captivated fans for more than a decade and has spawned a hit comic book series, graphic novels, collectibleaction figures and numerous soundtracks from rock bands.

Crossing my fingers that this will be decent.

the first one was an alright movie, but the stupid and pointless changes ruined the majority of what little connection with silent hill it had

the fact that they had completely skipped over 2 is amazing, seriously they butchered the characters from the first game so how the hell are we to link they to the characters from the 3rd

Easily enough.
I imagine Sean Bean's role will basically be Harry's. Have it set a few years later with Sharon now being Heather. Rose will be in it so they'll probably explain the ending of the first film, (which honestly was the most faithful adaption of a video game I've ever seen).

Really? You call witch burning, a sympathetic Dahlia, a female protagonist (when the plot is supposed to represent the first game - which had a male protagonist) a town full of people when Silent Hill is supposed to be very isolated "faithful"?
