Snake Eyes is being played by...

Well it figures they would cast Park as a guy that's mute. Since he can't do a yank accent either. And he was dubbed over on his first movie.

Yeah Park really isn't an actor his more of a stunt man.

Well I think showed some decent charisma in X-men, as well as a humorous side.

What the guy does have is a strong physical presence and magnetism. Something a character like Snake Eyes really needs. But I won't be happy if Snake Eyes is a really marginalized character like Colossus in X-men 3.

Snake Eyes is a white guy, and if they actually do want to make him into a real character, Park is a better choice than a Hong Kong martial artist.

Also, the dude is ****ing acrobatic. Did you not see him doing the flips and spinning air twists in Phantom Menace, X-men, etc?

The dude is a master martial artist and swordsman. At the very least we will see him doing some sword work again. I did love the little lightsaber twirl/homage he did in X-men.
Well Park is alright but ultimately, he's nto going to have the same amount of discipline as a oriental martial artist that has studied from birth.

Actually after some thought, i've decided that daniel southworth would probably have been a better choice. He's already had a stint as a military official and he can do his own stunts, he's actually out of this world when it comes to choreographed staged fighting (which he can also set up)

i think he did vergil in devil may cry so he already has a presence with a sword and also is used to working with ballistic weapons like guns as well due to his stretch with power rangers (very comfortable holding weapons).

Well pretty much every character except Wolverine was marginalized in X-Men.

Chrisma goes along way. It worked for Govenor Arnie, Jackie Chan, Bruce Lee, Van Damme and so on. Most action or Martial Arts stars may not be great actors but it doesn't matter of they can pull off that extra something on screen.

I agree with this all the way. Now we need Cobra Commander and Storm Shadow.

Storm Shadow has already been cast. His name is Shin Koyamada.

OK he hasn't been officially cast yet but he = Storm Shadow:

1. Japanese.

2. Disciplined martial artist and trained swordsman.

3. He can act and has physical presence.

4. Bi-lingual.

5. Cheap (no big stars remember for this $170 million movie).

I think with heroes now setting the bar, needing a person who can speak both english and japenese (on screen) is no longer necessary as an audience is probably more willing to sit through authentic japanese (with subs) if the story warrants it (and they'd actually prefer it that way).

Masi Oka speaks both languages.

Also, Tommy Arashikage has ALWAYS been bilingual. He and Snake Eyes were enlisted in the service together.

Storm Shadow = English speaker.

Heroes is also one TV show, not a $170 million summer movie.

Just saying, it's not lack of authenticity if Storm Shadow knows English because the character always has. This is how Larry Hama created the character.

Now all we need is Stormshadow........any ideas?

Or maybe Park can play both.......

Ray park as Snake Eyes......No, Storm Shadow sure.

My personal choices for Snake Eyes (Either Donnie Yen or Tony Jaa)

Storm Shadow (Ray Park, Gary Daniels, or Wu Jing)

Here is a Clip of Wu Jing and Donnie Yet going at it now, you'll notice that they're practically wearing the Ninja's respective colors. How could you not pick them?

You want whites for the Asian role and Asians for the white role?

Ray Park as Snake Eyes F'n rules! Finally a casting gone right. That's a rarity. This news just made my day.

Soooooooo glad someone else appreciates Gary Daniels too - I admit I'd prefer him as Snake Eyes over Park - even though I do like Ray (Parks' just a Daniels' wannabe anyway - only kidding ;) )

Hell, Daniels' even looks like Snake Eyes sans mask.

But I can live with a Snake Eyes played by Ray Park.

Maybe Gary Daniel's could be Iron Fist in a film, if that ever gets made. I would start with a Power Man Iron Fist film, then do a DTV showing both of their origins.

Keep in mind that Snake Eyes is the most popular character to ever come out of GI JOE. Most people are going to see this movie for Snake Eyes. So does that mean he should only be a supporting, background character? Or will he have a major role and romance with Scarlett? That to me is the most important thing. I sincerely hope they don't cop out with Scarlett/Duke or Duke/Scarlett/Action Man.

FYI, Ray Park is still a pretty young guy at 33. He could play this role for quite a while.

Also SHIN KOYAMADA as Storm Shadow/Tommy Arashikage.

Picture with myself and Ray Park:

For the guy who said Snakeeyes should have a romance with Scarlett, he should rot in jail & throw the key away. Afterall, Scarlett was Duke's girl in the cartoons.

She wasn't in the comics, though.

With Ray Park as Snake Eyes, Shin Koyamada wouldn't be particularly suitable as Storm Shadow due to age. Park looks visibly older than Koyamada by a fair number of years, which isn't ideal given the relationship between Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes. Hence, the actor to play Storm Shadow ought to be someone who looks closer in age to Ray Park.

SS doesnt necessarily have to be that close to Snake Eyes' age. Just because they became friends in the army doesnt imply that the two were of the same age.

It's like where you work - you forge frienships with all kinds of people; they dont have to be your own age per se. SS was the 'young master' after all.

:woot:

He's obviously been the fan favorite for a long time, and has been my choice as well, so I'm happy with this casting. So far, the casting for this film hasn't been bad, but my concerns over the storyline remain.

True, but remember that Snake-Eyes and Storm Shadow are supposed to be sword brothers and trained together at the same time. Hence, they should appear to be close in age as they are supposed to be contemporaries. While I know it is not necessary and they could have started training at different ages, etc., for the purposes of the movie and simplicity, it is clearer and gets the message across better that they are equals in skills, trained together and all that jazz, if the two are close in age.

Now, the problem is that Park looks older than his actual age while Koyamada looks younger than his actual age. Had their ages been flipped around, that would be perfect but alas, the old one looks much older and the young one looks much younger.

Wu Jing kicks ass! I've got Killzone...he'd make an awesome StormShadow.
