Star Trek seems to be having its biggest overseas opening in the entire history of the franchise...therefore, Ace has no idea what he is talking about or is blinded by Wolverine too much to be fair.
So...how about those second weekend numbers for Wolverine??? Holding up well with all that positive word of mouth???
What? Don't try and mug me off when I'm not around.
I'm not blinded by Wolverine. I was just saying that in my experience, not one single person is interested in Trek.
The FACT of box office numbers prove you wrong...yet you continue...
Do you think the movie industry is making up the numbers to make you look like an idiot???
And actually, isn't this lined up to make something like 75 mill this weekend? Less than Wolverine yea? So if that's the case, who is wrong?
I really don't think that the Star Trek movie is gonna beat Wolverine's opening. I think that some people are just desperate to see this movie fail. But we'll see.
What the **** are you talking about? How can I be proven wrong if I haven't said anything that can be proven wrong or right, yet?
I said that in my experience, no one gives a toss about Star Trek. And I don't think it will be the mega smash that some people are predicting.

What false assumption? That some people think Star Trek will be a massive box office smash? So, I've been imagining seeing people write this stuff or something?
Have you seen Star Trek yourself? Your posts suggest that perhaps you are underestimating just how well that movie is performing right now. It will probably not match Wolverine's opening weekend totals, but I am willing to bet it will outlast it and outgross it in the days and weeks to come. In that sense, it will be a box office smash.
In addition, you keep saying that this is Star Trek and "not Star Wars." This film is basically Star Trek MEETS Star Wars--complete with sky fencing battles dude. It's a completely different animal than any previous Trek film.

And I said no one in my experience cares, as in, no one I know, and they don't. I also said I don't think Star Trek is that popular, I said it's Star Trek, not Star Wars. If I end up wrong, then fair enough, but you can't prove me wrong yet.
And the inevitable Greg Grunberg cameo.
It was incredibly well done, it had plenty for fans of the old Star Trek, and plenty for people who didn't know Star Trek at all. And they set it up in a way where future movies don't have to be locked what happened in the previous Star Trek movies, so there's no real canon that they have to stick to, which I thought was a brilliant idea.
I haven't watched anything Star Trek-related in years, I had forgotten how much I used to enjoy it.
