How can you turn it into a franchise? Where's there to go once the queen is killed?

I don't think they'll kill off Charlize's character in the movie, but Universal and the producers are planning to make this the first film in a new trilogy. They've probably structured it to play as a one-off, in case it's not successful.

I don't see how Snow White can become a franchise, since its story is pretty linear and open-ended. Once the Evil Queen is dead and Snow White woke up from her slumber, the story is over.

It would be interesting to see where they take it. Maybe there are lots of evil villains in the Dark Forest that's in the film that they can elaborate on, I don't know.

I find it hilarious the mirror finds her more attractive than Charlize.

Maybe the Queen wants Snow White's heart because her heart is pure. The Queen's is evil. maybe that's what the Mirror seems to base his perception of beauty on. Not the beauty of your skin on the surface, but the beauty WITHIN.

They've talked about making a trilogy of films if this one is a success. I guess a "What happens after happily ever after" kinda thing. Which would be fine. Can even throw other fairy tales in there.

The Queen doesn't have to die, she can simply lose her power, and try to get it back.

In which case they may as well have done something original if they're planning franchises coz now after film one you're having to invent things that aren't part of the Snow White folklore. Fairy Tales aren't meant to be franchise material, they're one shot stories.

They could have changed that. There are a lot of changes that were made to the screenplay by the writer of Drive.

The Mirrorman also says Snow White is "destined" to be the fairest of them all. So she is still young and has not reach her true beauty potential and I assume the Queen wants to kill her before she ever does.

Yeah, I got from the trailer. I was assuming that throughout history she just killed whoever was the fairest of them all at the moment.

The Mirror actually reminds me of a sculpture I saw. The execution is awesome and I've been dying to see Rupert Sanders break into the big leagues for a while now.

Kinda funny how this also somewhat reminds me of Tarsem's work when you see Charlize in her scenes here (btw, so stunning!).

I don't think some of you got the notion that Kristen's Snow White will eventually surpass Charlize's Queen as in she needs their beauty to keep her looks or lose them to aging. Apparently she steals all the girls that are proclaimed fairer than the Queen and after that, Snow White automatically defaults becomes the fairest.

It might also be about inner beauty as well to triumph and defend her kingdom.

There is an audio clip of Chris Obi providing the voice of the Mirrorman online. The music in the background is from Batman (LOL) but I think it fits well. I don't know where it was recorded, maybe for Comic Con? I doubt it'll be fully used in the movie but he sounds good.

I think it was an old run of JLA that had the evil queen come back and Snow had trapped her in a book and they then became known as the Grimm Fairytales, that would make for an interesting way to bring this back to the present if they went that route for a sequel.

yeah I'm actually looking forward to this somewhat. I'm more intrigued by Tarsem's film, but I'm not of that "there can be only ONE" mindsets, so I'll probably enjoy both of them for different reason.

Damn that looks good. I love me anything Chris Hemsworth. Still not excited about Kristen Stewart as Snow White, it seems like any movie she is in anymore she just doesn't know how to act. Charlize looks scary and awesome, I can't wait
