The Dark Knight So could our TDK mesh with singer's Superman?

So yes then....? How many times have you even seen these movies? If you feel like Singer ruined the franchize I have to assume you don't even have them on DVD.

The only problem I see with this flick is who will the villains be... I hope they can throw in Ra's and Luthor... although its tough to see how it might work... Joker has been done before on TAS... the whole Bruce hitting on Louis has already been put in the books... here's a quick plot of mine:

Part 1: The World's Finest

Lex Corp and Wayne Enterprises have some conflicting sh:t that requires Bruce Waynes immediate attention... so he heads to Metropolis... he is met by Clark Kent and Louis Lane covering the story... Superman has had trouble dealing with regular criminals recently due to a new weapon in mass quantities in the streets of Metropolis.... turns out Luthor has been arming super criminals with illegal weapons using banned nanotechnolgy containing rounds smothered in (you guessed it) Kryptonite... Wayne exposes Lex Corp and attempts to buy out Lex Corp... Luthor becomes desperate and consults some league of shadows members (led by Talia Al Ghul) to bring the destruction of Bruce Wayne... the League of Shadows members sabotage Bruce's plane and capture him... Superman investigates the disappearance of Bruce Wayne and questions Luthor... Luthor says he has no idea and has nothing to do with any of it...

Talia is about to expose Bruce as Batman to the public but she feels guilty and actually admires Bruce Wayne as a worthy opponent... Talia reveals that her only purpose in Metropolis was to ensure the destruction of Lex Luthor to put an end to his bull sh:t once and for all, citing that there is a distinct difference between bankrupting Lex and killing him... Talia gives Bruce to Luthor for the exchange of a stockpile nanotech weapons but then is about to kill Luthor after the deal has been made... luckily Supes shows up... Lex escapes and the battle ensues... turns out the guns were replicants and not the real deal and the League of SHadows is manhandled by Supes... Bruce is saved but quickly shrugs off Superman and feels a bit humiliated...

Sound decent so far? There is always something decent... i'll finish the rest in a bit...

Part 2: The World's Finest

Lex is disgusted and calls himself an idiot for trusting the League of Shadows... since no one in Metropolis is up to the task... Lex makes a call to Gotham and brings in Rupert Thorne and his hitmen to help him finish the job... he arms them with the real stash of weapons and tells them to take down Supes and the League of SHadows... Bruce stays in Metropolis for a little while longer as Louis shows him around town... (romance is never hinted at) but Bruce asks Louis what it is like to be involved with the Man of Steel himself... Bruce goes back to his hotel and is met by Talia... Talia says she needs his help to take down Luthor... but Bruce says he can't get involved while here at Metropolis... Talia tells Bruce that he "still lacks the courage to do all that is necessary" but nevertheless she sees the similarities of her father in Bruce... she kisses Bruce goodbye and does what she must... Bruce suits up anyway and follows her... Bruce soon discovers Rupert THorne's involvement as he investigates... the gang decides to hit the first union bank and give their weapons a test run... Clarke witnesses the attack and excuses himself Louis and suits up... Supes handles them easily until a shell lands in his spleen and the nanomachines pick him apart... Batman then swoops in and returns the favor... saving Supes and bring him in to safety... at his independent lab in Metropolis... Wayne discovers that it is indeed them same nanotechnolgy and Luther was the supplier... it is also revealed that Luthor has a hundred more shipments that are to be shipped globally to terror networks around the globe...

Talia in the meantime goes after Luthor... the League of Shadows track him down his secret head quarters taking every precaution... but Luther's nanotech sensors pick them up and they are trapped... Talia's team is killed off one by one untill she is the only one left... Talia... before being killed... reveals Bruce Wayne is Batman and tells Luthor she can prove it... turns out she recorded her conversation with Bruce in the hotel room... Luthor finds the appeal of unmasking the Bats too enticing to ignore and gives her a chance... Luthor leaves a message for Bruce to bring in the injured Superman or he exposes him and kills Talia in the process... Bruce with no choice... goes in... Superman agrees to go with Bruce's plan... Louis begs her man not to do something foolish but Superman goes with it anyway...

too make a long story short... Thorne and Luthor get their asses killed... Supes and Bats save Talia... the weapons set for mass shipment globally is destoryed and the world is safe once again... now that to me is a decent REALISTIC plot in an unrealistic universe...

If Jeff Loeb wrote the movie - Batman and Superman could appear on screen together very easily.

Why does everybody I like insist on saying things that ANGER ME!?!?!?

I'm not saying it couldn't be cool, it could, but I don't see it working. I like the idea of it all and i like the comic book's way but on screen it'll be different. Here's a solid point my friend made: if DC could open there own film studio like Marvel then this may happen...otherwise it will probably not get made and if it does were talking 10 years from now. Like my friend's point I think I would have more faith if only DC had control. Maybe they will open a studios soon....

Guys I seriously don't hate the idea...I'm serious. I just don't see it working. It's gonna be hard to do, hard to cast well and hard to write. I know anything is possible but don't keep your hopes up super fans cause I won't either. I'm just gonna keep the idea lingering in my mind. I would want to see this movie.

If their was ever a live action BATMAN/SUPERMAN movie . I doubt it would even come close to toping or surpassing this movie .

On that subject, I agree. I love that movie.

I think that the Bats / Supes teamup works better as a cartoon or a comic; that as a live-action project it would be a very, very bad idea for several reasons. The first is that it would be a cinematographic nightmare.

The second is that it would cheapen both franchises and run them into the ground, because it would feel "cute" and gimmicky.

The third is that it would BE cute and gimmicky.

Seriously, WB could just run a ticker across the bottom of the screen saying "WE URGE YOU TO GIVE US MORE MONEY... WE URGE YOU TO GIVE US MORE MONEY... BABY NEEDS... A NEW PAIR OF SHOES... WE URGE YOU TO GIVE US MORE MONEY..." & etc.

In a perfect world this movie could be made. It was a miracle that Batman Begins was even made. A lot of people absolutely hate Superman Returns. I don't know what it would take for a team up movie to be successful. It could maybe work years from now with new actors after Bale and Routh have moved on.

That's what I'm saying. It seems it would be a slim chance that it would be made and like Keyser said it would seem gimmicky.

Speaking of Warner Bros. I wanna test there testosterone and see if they got the gull to buy the Halo the movie rights and up the ante to around atleast 250 million dollars to make it. And they need to bring back Alex Garland's script. I got a secret little peek of it and it looked way better than I expected. So....you here me WB....make a move on it!

I know where you are coming from.... but I just got a feeling the Supes sequel will be dynamite (coming from a guy who hated SR) as long as it has the right story.... and we know what to expect from TDK... then WB has a decision... it's too costly to continue both franchises... so I honesty think if there is a fourth installment it'll be a cross over... a target year would be 2015/16 so the actors will still be in their late thirties or early forties... I think they can pull it off... all you really need is Routhe, Bale, SPacey and maybe Bosworth... and if TAS can come up with a decent plot... movie writers can't? ALso I don't think it would be over the top... I mean we won't see Braniac and Doomsday in a cross over... we won't see Joker and Two-Face in a cross over... I think the villains will be regular people like Luthor so I don't see that as a major concern either... and the fact that WB started both these franchises at the same time was not only to compete with marvel.... I think they always had this movie on the back of their minds...

Singer did a great job turning a God into a relatable mortal (if only for a little while) in Superman Returns.
Relatable? Singer's Superman felt to me like a literal alien in human skin, gazing upon at the earth with a superior air, intending to be worshipped. THIS for the first time I've watched any Superman movie/television series. He's never felt more alien to me. And the chemistry between him and Lois Lane felt like King Kong and his little blonde date. I'd really expected more, much more. Now I'm hoping he won't come 50yards from anything Batman.

It WILL happen sooner or later, and won't be anymore gimmicky than any other superhero film.

If WB can secure every aspect needed to make this movie happen then more power to them. I just don't want to see a Superman vs. Batman movie, obviously they have to fight at some point, but this movie should be straight up Worlds Finest.

I think the chemistry in King Kong was even better than in Sups. That's funny to think about. :woot:

Back to the thread....oh yea, I was thinking and would seem more plausible to have Sups Lex as a main villain for this movie. He could be the one to free Bats Jokes or someone from prison as a recruit and then it goes from theire....

Frankly I have no clue who the villains would be besides Lex.?

Man, I don't know about you but I getting sick and tired of Lex Luthor. 5 Superman movies so far and he was been in 4 of them and now talk of him being in this movie. :csad:

That's true Raybia, but he and Zod are the only ones I think that would work for it from Sups. And Lex like the Batman Villains Joker and Two-Face don't have any real super powers so it would seem easy to mix them in the film.

Ultimately, I agree. Lex is used too much. Didn't like Spacey's Lex at all.

PLEASE GOD NO LEX!!! Maybe The HArdly Boys can look for him throughout the movie.

Having trouble comprehending the mind of a superman? Never been difficult for me. Maybe that's because I'm an elitist romantic with delusions of grandeur. I thought all superhero fans were.

You can finally kill Lex Luthor off... I am hoping the villains would be Lex and possibly the return of Ras... not interested in seeing a joker overlap again...

Ra's and Mad Hatter should team up to mind-control supes.

I always find this subject hilarious.

Words like cute, gimmicky, and campy always come to mind. In the words of Spacey's Luthor, WRONG!!

Why wouldn't it work? With the proper writing and vision, this would be fantastic. The AKW script laid a pretty good foundation to improve upon. The different dynamics between the characters would be excellent to explore. Wally Pfister could shoot this film with no issues. Why does a Superman/Batman film automatically qualify as not working and being ridiculous?
