Sons of Anarchy - Part 3

LOL, I love how Unser waits until Season 7 to start acting like a man of the law. Pffft. :o

that chase scene with The Cosby show style jazz......Ruuudy.

That was the oddest choice for chase scene music considering the entire tone of this episode.

#gemmabetterdie

and yeah that chase scene was weird to me

would have thought that with all the s**t she's caused, Jax would want to kill Gemma, but what happens?... he pimps out with "I still love her... she's my mother"... if Jax isn't the one to do the deed, I'll be very pissed... unless they come up with something or some way to off Gemma effectively and satisfyingly...

Just more of Sutter living vicariously through Jax's character.

Charlie Hunnam and Jimmy Smits acted their butts of this episode. Smits in particular was incredible, especially during and after that phone call.

Heavy episode, but on a light note, I loved Chibs tripping that cop!

Well even within context of all the circumstances, in its simplest form, it IS a pretty difficult concept to grasp your head around…you know, killing your mother.

I feel in my gut that Gemma will end up killing herself. She'll not want to leave that thread hanging, she'll call Jax, he'll be completely silent on the other end of the phone while she cries/apologizes/explains herself, he stays silent, she accepts the fact that without her family, she's nothing, and that she can never be a part of that family again, then she'll put a gun in her mouth and pull the trigger.

Great episode tonight. Charlie Hunnam, Theo Rossi, Jimmy Smits and Katey Sagal were in top form.

And Unser........ get your f***ing s*** together. Jesus, even Juice called you out on your stupidity.

I was also suprised about that. I mean it's not only that she killed Tara and is responsible that her lie about the killing affected so many people, people died, but hell she lied and manipulated Jax all the time...that should be more than enough for Jax to go full hate and killing mode...at least Juice stood up and agreed with the consequences...but Gemma...to run away...I mean where to? She is a nobody, no friends and family...

and as i previously said, Unser is one of the dumbest characters of all time.

Good god damn. I haven't teared up this much during a show since the Ozymandias episode of Breaking Bad. Or maybe the season 2 finale of Hannibal but still. Jesus Christ this was like driving by a car crash on the side of the highway. And btw Jax's reasoning is totally believable. It's his ****ing mom. That's your mom. Who taught you to tie your shoes and fed you and raised you. Your mom can do some serious **** in your life that you can deal with just because you love them. Anybody with an addict for a family member or any other type of situation knows what I mean. It's his ****ing mom. You can't come back from that. Even ordering the hit on her, he's still ultimately responsible. That's too heavy a burden for most men to bare. Even if their mother had savagely murdered the mother of their children, its unconditional love. The situation ain't just black and white.

Does anyone else think [blackout]Gemma's on her way to say goodbye to her father[/blackout]?

True. Moms are the first person that a man ever loves, and it's a connection that goes all the way back to the womb. It's like you say unconditional and entirely different from any other love and relationship in a person's life. I can certainly sympathize with Jax's dilemma, and I'd cut him slack if he couldn't do it. But the ***** has to die. She has to pay for her sins. As long as she accepts that and she dies I'm ok with it if Jax isn't the one to order it or do it himself.

Fantastic episode. It will be remembered as one of the best.

Oh and I'm so damn thankful for Nero. As a character he brings sanity and intelligence and heart to the show, but he's also the only parent figure Jax has and I hope that nothing crazy happens and ruins that before the end of the show. If the show ends with those two on bad terms I'm gonna be more sad about that than probably any other thing.

That was kinda what I was thinking. Something like that. Where else could she possibly be going?

Yea, that's all I'm saying. She gots to go but I can't imagine Jax doing it or ordering it done. That's just bringing down a whole other level of guilt on you that like Nero said, would destroy Jax.

Nero is the father Jax never had. I feel the same way about him in regards to Jax as I did about Patterson after her scene with him talking about family in last season's finale.

I wish we had had some more CCH Pounder in this season. I'm still mentally preparing myself for when DC cast Halle Berry or somebody as Amanda Waller in the DCCU instead of CCH Pounder and my resulting mini strokes.

Charlie Hunnam was incredible in that scene. He's developed into such a great actor over the series. You look at him in the first couple of seasons and he's a completely different actor now. Theo Rossi was terrific in that scene too. He hung right in there with Hunnam's performance.

Theo really dug deep down later on in the scene with Unser and Jerry. His line about Gemma "knowing every truth behind every lie inside every secret" is probably the greatest single piece of dialogue in the entire series. His delivery of it was perfection and Sutter's script nailed down what the show has always been about. A total home run all around.

Yes.

This episode was fantastic and wonderfully intense. I'm glad the truth came out without any ******** attached. Juice told it straight and he accepted the consequences. I'm glad that Nero believed Jax immediately and turned away from Gemma. I thought it was possible she was going to turn him against Jax. Yeah Unser is dense, but I think the writers put him in that position so he could be the only remaining character with any sympathy for Gemma.

Regardless of Jax's ultimate fate in the series. I think Nero and Wendy will be the guardians of his children.

Unser still doesn't know that Gemma killed Tara, does he? I don't think he's so much defending Gemma, as he's just completely peeved that despite everything, Jax still won't let him know what's going on.

I thought she might do it in the scene with Nero, on her old street. At one point they hadn't shown the street itself, but we could hear traffic. Gemma was standing with her back to Nero, and I suspected she might suddenly step forward in the path of a semi. I'm not so sure suicide is on her agenda now though, she did pack quite a bit of stuff.

That was a superb episode of acting by Sagal, Charlie, Smits & Rossi... All four knocked it so far out the park that ET made the catch.

yeah, I'm gonna agree with Sawyer on his guess as to what Gemma's ultimately planning to do...

Speculation on what's going to happen with Juice (potential major spoiler from one of the actors):

Marilyn Manson posted a picture on Facebook from his last day of filming.

Jax already promised Juice that "it'll be quick", so he's probably going to have Tully kill Juice. It kind of makes sense that Juice would be killed by a white supremacist, as the chain of events which led to his downward spiral was caused by his fear of the club finding out his father was black. A bit of twisted irony.
