Sons of Anarchy - Part 3

the roof top moment with Chibs and later Tigs tearing up with Chibs were some tear jerking moments.

also, i'm glad Chibs finally put that sheriff in her place. she looked like she was ready to ask for a transfer after that exchange. :word:

That scene of jax saying goodbye to his kids was tough to watch... Really hope that this season gets some recognition in the awards season... It's a travesty it's been overlooked...

My other favorite moment was when Jax told Abel to listen to Nero because "he's daddy's best friend". I'll admit the feels was strong in that moment.

Well, first I was like "well, what the f*** about Chibs?!", but I guess being a member of the club, he's really more Jax's brother than friend.

Great end to the season - I mean show (NOOOOOOOO!!!!)

I loved the call back to the first season with the homeless woman/angel of death, but when did they ever say that she was the mother of rat's girlfriend?

While I think the last few shots of the episode had an impact, the laughably terrible cgi and green screen...there was just no excuse for that, especially considering how THAT is the final shots of the entire freaking series. Instead of focusing on the emotional impact of what was happening, I was dumbfounded by the awful cgi. I'm usually forgiving of that sort of thing, but here...no. Just no.

Last season when Jax visits her house and saw the photo.

The whole subplot between Chibs and her was the biggest waste of time in this series since 3/4 of season 3, though. Probably the only real problem, for me personally, with this season.

I agree.

They should have done an overhead pan up shot as Jax and the tractor trailer were racing towards each other, cut the song and fade to black. Oh well.

Thanks. I totally forgot about that.

I like the way they ended the episode; its just that the quality of the effects where freaking awful. Had they done a better job, the shots would have been far more impactful. And it's not like these shots were hard - it was really just a bunch of green screen...how the compositor managed to screw that up is beyond me.

Sutter also said on Anarchy Afterwards that he made the homeless woman as a mystical part open to interpretation.

Personally, I like to think of her as the ghost of the woman since she was an innocent victim in JT's wreck. The only people that have ever encountered her were Jax and Gemma. It's like she was haunting them.

Tig saw her in Season 4 or 5 I believe. It was the episode where they broke up the dog fighting.

Had a lump in my throat for most of that final montage. Seeing Jax so at peace with what was to come, somehow made it harder to watch.

So did the trucker, right? But that would make sense, as he's going to her instrument.

Vic Mackey always gets his man.

Nope - see below.

I agree. He also may be the same guy that hit JT years ago.

Ok, so I'm really bored but really fascinated by the topic so I looked up all her appearances - 10 in total.

Season 1:

She meets Gemma as a beggar telling Gemma that she's panhandling for money for her 2 boys. (Gemma had 2 boys, 1 died as a baby, Jax is the other) She tells Gemma she lost her job because she flies into fits of rage. Sound like anyone familiar...?

In the season finale she meets Jax in the cemetery after the fight with Tig over Donna's murder. She gives him a blanket to sleep with. He gives her his hoodie and heads off to Donna's funeral where he stands across from Clay for the first time.

Season 2:

Gemma encounters her at a church. She asks "don't I know you"? The woman replies, "everyone knows me".

Season 3:

Jax follows the couple that has Abel around a marketplace observing them. The woman is there, in IRELAND and the man from the couple gives her money. How is she in Ireland??? A ghost. Jax then contemplates for the first time leaving Abel to give him a better life.

Season 4:

Jax encounters her again while he and Tara on a road trip with the boys shortly before the Cartel attack. They don't speak but she's there again for a major moment in Jax's life. They were also far outside of Charming. I can't remember where but it wasn't local.

Season 5:

Jax meets her again in the season finale, this time outside of the dog fighting place the club and Nero raid. She's out at a dumpster talking to a stuffed animal.

Season 6:

She reappears in the episode when Brooke smashes the window at Scoops and is revealed to be her daughter.

She shows up again after Juice dumps the fork Gemma used to kill Tara.

Season 7:

Shows up in the last 2 episodes. Once at a truck stop where Gemma meets the trucker damn near up in Portland where she's looking for loose change in a vending machine and of course last night.

Nope - see below.

I stand corrected. I got the location right. :)

Watched this earlier. I don't even know what to post, I feel so :csad:

Ending was completely appropriate, forseen by most, but still a major, major downer. I feel empty just like I did after the Breaking Bad finale. Both will be hard for me to rewatch.

I hope Sutter does the prequel miniseries, even though I know it won't be the same it should be a nice companion piece.

Good call on the homeless woman, I forgot all about Jax's visit with her husband, hell I've spent this entire year trying to remember where Brooke came from. Now I know. I just can't keep details straight once I start watching something weekly.

Thanks to cast & crew for a great run!

In that sense, the woman is standing in for J.T. as a ghost. The show parallels Hamlet pretty strongly so I don't think it would be much of a stretch to assume that as a possibility.

One other thing now that I think about it was I would have liked to have seen more of a representation of J.T. besides his writings. Jax had a vision of him in Season 3 but after that the show shifts into Jax's head more and J.T. moves into the mythology of the show. I would have Jax see J.T.'s ghost from time to time in my opinion, but it might have stretched the realism aspect of the show. But then again if you have Gemma "speaking" to Tara for most of the season, I think it could have worked.

I know Jax "talks" to J.T. in the finale but I would have liked a physical representation. I wanted an actual ghost. :o

I thought it would have been cool to have Jax look over to the side of the road before the crash and see ghosts of JT, Opie, Bobby and Tara standing on the side of the road. I would have loved to see them all one last time.

Funny you should say that because I just read something pretty interesting on Tumblr. Maybe they were with him.

Someone mentions that we see a total of eight crows that fly over Jax in the final montage.

8 crows = JT, OPIE, PINEY, TARA, BOBBY, JUICE, GEMMA, AND UNSER?

Could be a major stretch since Clay and others don't fit into the theory. Just found that interpretation super interesting.

They never said she actually WAS that woman, only that she looked like her.The dad said something to the effect that she looked differently to different people. The mom died in JT's crash, it's why the girl was so messed up. :)

But if she was a stand in for JT, why the bread and wine? That suggests something supernatural, yes, but more than just a simple ghost.

just finished rewatching it and was just wondering what the closing song over the police convoy chase was and who was it by?... I'd like to get ahold of it...

"Come Join the Murder" by The White Buffalo and the Forest Rangers. Apparently Sutter wrote the lyrics.

I think the bread and wine was more for jax rather than her.
