If someone told me Chuckie would outlive Jax, Clay, Gemma, Unser, Bobby, Opie, Piney, Juice, and everyone else way back in season 1 I would have laughed

I accept that.

Shouldn't be that much of a surprise. Look at the lives they lived.

Why? Chuckie lived a relativly low key safe life throughout the show. He worked as a clerk essentially. He didn't go out on runs or go anywhere near the violence. The rest of those guys were constantly being shot at, rode an incredibly dangerous motor vehicle, and came close to death on most days.

Of all the grown male characters Chuckie was the safest.

Remember what he was like in season 1 though. He had his fingers chopped off by the Triads after getting sold out by Sam Crow. I didn't expect to see him again after that.

One tiny little thing I'd like an answer for.

In the beginning of the penultimate episode, Jax is hiding out of the Mayans place, the Sons turn up and as Jax stands to head off with them, he stumbles. Both he and Chibs seem a little concerned about it, but it's never mentioned again.

I personally thought it was going to be a clue to the family congential heart defect only being delayed in him, not absent. Personally I wouldn't have liked it, as it was left too in the series to be dealing with it.

So, any thoughts as to what the point of the stumble?

Charlie Hunnam broke a toe before filming that episode, and instead of trying to work around his limp they incorporated it as a minor detail. I think it just represented all of Jax's stress manifesting itself in a physical way, like one might get a headache or something.

I hadn't heard about the injury before watching that episode, but the way that scene was done, i kinda thought they were working around an injury of some kind...

In my sleep-deprived zombie stupor I decided to find the song from the end of each season finale. It paints an interesting picture overall.

Seasons 3 and 6 have my favorite ones.
Either of those would have sent the series final scenes through the stratosphere for me.
I do appreciate that idea that Sutter wrote the lyrics for Swan Song though.

That being said, I did love the final moments of these series. Very poignant. Right down to the idea of being in his fathers boots and atop his bike. That last moment on the cliff side at the JT memorial spot...Great closure for me.

Tara: "I'm not going anywhere."

Lyric: I'm staying here to end my life

Jesus, Sutter was warning us two seasons ahead.

I would have liked Phil to make it to the end of the series. Damn you, Galen.
