As soon as I saw that, I just went "Aw s***." Gemma is derailing his plans post-mortem, that b****.

I didn't even think of that...****ing Damnit to Hell!!! Even in death she is ruining lives and messing up Jaxs plans. But I can't think about that. I have to hope that Nero and Wendy are good enough influences on him and that the Club would not allow him to go down that path out of respect for Jax's wishes. I can't let myself think that Gemma had one more successful scheme. **** her and her plans. The boys got out, and grow up to have good lives. That's what I choose to believe.

This was a beautiful finale. Probably my favorite finale ever. Well done and thank you, Sutter.

I think that's a little sliver of the biker life left over. Abel still knows that Gemma killed his mother. In my mind it won't derail anything. It will serve as the constant reminder to him as he grows just how evil some of those people were.

Abel's old enough to remember his dad, the club, and that a lot of bad stuff went down in that early stage of his life. He's 5 years old and already wildly messed up for any number of reasons. Jax wanted Nero to make sure his kids grew up hating him, but for all the bad, Abel loved his dad and will still be able to remember the good side of Jax -I can definitely see Abel coming of age, being an off-the-rails young man and heading back to Cali in the hopes of joining the Sons. The only thing I could see stopping him are the Sons themselves, Chibs, Tig and co wouldn't let Abel prospect.

Nah Im fine with Jax dying or not dying I dont mind either way. I just thought that shot was so badass and so true to the idea of what the show was that that wouldve been better


I hope they make that prequel mini series or tv movie soon

The finale itself worked well enough to tie up loose ends, but the Christ imagery was a little overboard. Jax came to grips with being a criminal and killer, after all.

I'll give Kurt Sutter a pass on that, though.

Yeah, it's not that I minded it, just that it didn't quite jive with what the imagery would have meant to a true Christian I guess.

But his "sacrifice" is still very relative - Jax was a bad, bad man and personally I don't think there was any redemption for what he's done.

I like how the homeless lady (Ratboy's girlfriend's mother who died in the crash with JT) turned out to more or less be an angel of death (a reaper). The shot of the bread, calling back to earlier in the episode, was a nice touch.

I think that scene could have worked better without the overt imagery of Jax raising his arms and Milo saying, "Jesus!". Sutter wanted to establish that Jax was sacrificing himself for the sins of the club. He killed people like Barosky and Marks singlehandedly with witnesses nearby so that it wouldn't land on the other Sons. He took responsibility and finally stopped tippytoeing around the idea of getting his kids away from Charming. But his "sacrifice" is still very relative - Jax was a bad, bad man and personally I don't think there was any redemption for what he's done.

See because the homeless girl had the bread and wine, to me that was like saying she was God's avatar, so I was confused when she said to Jax, "It's time" and then went on to...

assist him in a murder by giving him the blanket, something God or Jesus in theory would never do. I mean why else would she say that and give him the blanket? I had actually thought he was gearing up for the Mayhem verdict and it was like God saying "I am with you" as he sacrificed himself for the Club which would have made more sense. But then Jax goes and kills a bunch of guys. The symbolism just doesn't quite jive there.

A bit heavy on the symbolism, but a satisfying conclusion. I think most knew where it was headed, but the execution was top grade. Hell of a ride.

Agreed. It was a surprisingly satisfactory ending considering how weak the overall season was.

Loved that jax established that the bad guys lose at the end of the day. And that he knew there was no saving himself because he was a bad guy. Glad he went out on his own terms and sacrificed himself for the sake of his families, and can finally have peace at last because he went through hell in every season. Loved the shot of Abel with JT's ring.
The bread/wine hands out imagery was a little heavy handed but the crow eating the bread was a nice touch.

Yea that's why it gets a little mixed up. The two ideas work better separately (Jax sacrificing himself for the club and his children; homeless lady as an angel of death).

I think those memories would fade in time. Letting Jax in the know about what he heard Gemma say seemed to really unburden him. Not completely, of course, he still had some issues before he heard Gemma admit to killing Tara, but somewhat.

very satisfying ending to this wild ride of a show. glad the club at the end avoided being the ones to put down Jax. that would have really sucked. for a moment there I thought he was just going to run and hide after that. then I remembered, "oh right, the crazy bastard spent the whole day confessing for his crimes and killing a bunch of high profile people in the criminal underworld." there's no hiding.

now I patiently wait for January to get my Tuesday night FX fix from Justified as that show also prepares for one final ride.

The thing that a lot of people seem to be missing (not so much around here but other areas online where I've seen it) is that when someone gets a Mayhem vote, the club basically disavows any knowledge of the member's existence.

There's not going to be a big funeral for Jax and no one is going to tell Abel what really happened. Plus Jax burned every journal and note he kept that both he and his father wrote about the club.

Yep. Plus, he'll be growing up with Wendy and Nero, two people who definitively would never want him to end up in that world, whereas Jax grew up with the founder of the club as a father, his father's replacent as a stepfather and the club's biggest cheerleader as a mom.

The best line of the night was when Nero asked Jax where he was going and Jax with tears in his eyes replied, "I don't know" i.e. Heaven or Hell.

My other favorite moment was when Jax told Abel to listen to Nero because "he's daddy's best friend". I'll admit the feels was strong in that moment.
