Remind me if I am wrong, but I remember a while back that Disney weren't willing to pay the large amount Sony wanted for them to buy the character back. For some reason I remember this coming along around TASM2 time, but I might be mistaken.

I don't know for sure off-hand, but this sounds correct.

That is actually not uncommon to include when buying a license. You basically have to have something highly sought after like Harry Potter in order to have the power to refuse that type of agreement.

That genuinely surprises me, but I know less than nothing about legal proceedings so maybe it shouldn’t be so shocking.

Woody Harrelson as Cletus Kassidy doesn't excite me in the least. And boy did that wig not help. It's too bad that they didn't get Cameron Monaghan. It would have been the perfect casting. And as I looked him up, I even discovered that he expressed interest in playing Carnage, which I never knew.

Instead we'll get an almost 60 year old, old man Carnage in a potential sequel. =/

Woody did a pretty good scene, a bit of scenery chewing, but it's Kasady here, so I don't mind. The wig is pretty....loud, I personally would stuck with the curls, but made it a little less...I dunno full bodied? I think the look works, but give him a haircut. *sigh* again, I'm disappointed. Hardy and Harrleson as Brock and Kasady is a dream for me, but in this context, it's still a dropkick to my canuck mug.

I really don't like that particular red and black nightmare in the CBs but dang the idea of Harrelson giving a take on the role... I'm sold. Whether it will actually happen and there will be a sequel... not sure yet. Even though I enjoyed the movie it's not going to be everyone's cup of turds and there is a looooot of negative press about it now

Saw it today and I'm hoping to see it again with some friends over the weekend who also want to see it.

I don't know why but the visual of a pregnant woman buying tickets for Venom amuses me. It's great though to see it's not just your typical fanboys enjoying it.

hehe yeah I got a few odd looks today, and when I went to see predators last week. Oh well those people can watch me not giving a single F**k
I saw a midday showing today and I'd say my audience was about half 'typical young/middle aged males' and 'half young/middle aged females'. The ticket sales person said there were loads of sales for the movie today, but don't know if that will last.

Watch an Alien Marathon!!!

Yeah, he played Jerome on Gotham. Not only does he have the look and would be instantly recognizable as Cletus Kasady, he also has the acting chops and is charismatic as hell.

eh, I don't think that kid's a great actor. He's the weakest of the bunch on Shameless, too. He never really sells me on any of his emotions.
