Hi guys...I'm a spammer...that's right, I don't give a darn who you guys are what you are talking about...I'm here to interrupt that with my spam message of nothing you would be interested in in a million years anyway....because I am a useless spammer......oh darn...I've been banned.

Just like a German.

This move is cool, better than just deleting the useless spam message, I laughed
:applaud

I wish I had seen that footage before it was pulled, because I need to see something to make me more excited for this.

Eh that footage wouldnt of done it for ya, just go play Shattered Dimensions and you'll see exactly what was on display.

Yeah the footage was unspectacular. The environment was the research facility we've seen in the pictures. The only thing worth the time about was really just to see what little tweaks had been done to the gameplay.

Pretty much. I mean, the voice acting is great, and some of the new things are ocol, but other than that, it's just like SHattered Dimensions.

I was thinking about this game, and it seems like it'll be mindless fun like the previous one...but it's sad, my favorite part of SD was the Spiderman Noir sections.

I kind of want a game completely in that style. :(

It doesn't matter if this one will turn out better than SD or not. I'll play the hell out of Arkham City before touching this. AA beats every single Spider-Man game by far (yes, including the much overrated SM2).

One cutscene from Arkham Asylum alone kills all production values from every Spider-Man game, and that's sad.

Of course AA beats every Spider-Man game because it beats ANY comic book game out there. It is of the highest value and of highest quality in regards to a superhero/comic book game that has ever been made.

Arkham Asylum had only a few flaws that could easily be forgiven, every Spider-Man game IMO suffers from the same flaws that have been around since the first movie game on PS2. As much as alot of us would like to see another company take on Spider-Man, I really wish Activision would get their act straight and deliver something truly epic. In a way, I can appreciate to an extent what Beenox is doing, and I will say they've nailed Spideys behavior and characteristics, the gameplay and story though seems to suffer.

What's funny is this reminds me of the thread regarding which was better, Batman:TAS or The Spectacular Spider-Man and I just mentioned how Batman:TAS pretty much created the "superhero cartoon" in its own way and paved the way for future shows. Same goes for Arkham Asylum; it will, at least one day, pave the way for GREAT games involving other superheroes.

Haha, yea that pretty much sums it up. Arkham Asylum was not only one of the best superhero titles, but its been one of the better titles this gen. Its just a great game all around.

Yea, ill play through Edge of Time regardless due to Josh Keaton voicing Spidey.

I mean i didnt hate SD, i just didnt think the story was really that good. The game played fairly well tho, a bit repetitive but i had fun with the game. Hopefully EoT can improve on that.

Nolan's Batman films show how comic book characters can be taken seriously, without cheapening it for the kids, with great results. It whipes the floor with the Spidey films.

Arkham Asylum shows how to take a comic book character and make a game that respects the material and competes with the best games overall this generation. It whipes the floor with the Spidey games.

As much of a Spidey fan as I am, I must admit that Batman these days pretty much kicks Spidey's ass. I hope Spidey will be taken as seriously as Batman some day.

This is the equivalent of saying the sky is blue. Did we really NEED to go over it?

ok, can people please stop trying to compare AA with Spider-man games? the best spider-man game (spider-man 2) came out almost 10 years ago now... and batman has had decades of crap-tastic games... he gets one Amazing Game (that is revolutionary to the superhero genre ... but as was Spider-man 2, and X-men Legends) and suddenly people wanna act like it's the best thing ever. Spidey's been stuck in an old formula that's just not working, and does need a better game. But it will never be the same tone as Batman.. unlike batman spidey is a lighthearted character. also... we may have to endure a bunch of crappy games to be able to get another revolutionary one.. just like batman had to.

Spider-Man 2 wasnt nearly as good a game as Arkham Asylum. Not even close.

Batman also fares well because the general audience thinks he's awesome and realistic. Maybe he is, but any time "prep time" comes up all that just goes out the window.

But we should really leave this argument before it takes off. It's been treaded a lot of times already.

Batman fares well because he's been treated with a lot of respect lately in mass media. He's had 2 more than amazing films(changing the landscape of comic book adaptations) and an incredibly successful videogame, which also changed how superheros are handled in the industry.
Spider-Man on the other hand has had to deal with recent failures. Between a terrible final film and constant under performing video games. He has to build his rep back up with the mainstream. Bats had to do the same thing(Batman Forever and Batman and Robin).

I think Spidey will come roaring back though. He's too great a character not to. It just takes the amount of respect he deserves to get there which brings us back to the root of the problem. Activision. Unlike Warner Bros, Activision has no stake in Spider-Man, they don't care what gets put out under his name.
