I don't care how big they say it is inside Alchemax, the idea of an entire Spider-Man game taking place indoors is lame.

Yeah, I agree. Spidey is one of those characters you really can't confine. Even though Shattered Dimensions was linear, it still had a majority of outside levels. It created variety. That being said, I'm still curious to see how this turns out.

Well, they said that the building has many layers that aren't just factory. One interview stated a fake, virtual city and a jungle.

what I liked about the trailer:

1) ASM's new design (wish we got something like that for the movie)

....and that's it. Like everyone else has said, this looks like a rehash of SD, which IMO, is not a game worth rehashing
I agree
Spider-Man games every year isn't something new really.

2000: Spider-Man for PS1
2001: Spider-Man 2: Enter Electro
2002: Spider-Man The Movie
2004: Spider-Man 2
2005: Ultimate Spider-Man
2007: Spider-Man 3 & Friend or Foe
2008: Spider-Man Web of Shadows
2010: Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions
2011: Spider-Man Edge of Time

Not really what one would want but it's not something new.
Before Edge of time at least most games had different developers with nice time between
USM came a year after Spidey 2 and both from Treyarch, sure, but they had different people working on it, in no way it was a rehash

The portal thing reminds me of MK Shaolin Monks
I wish that one was ported to PC

Don't you ever mention that game again!!!!!! my most favorite MK game....not even backwards compatible on 360.......bastards :argh:

I'm really intrigued about the story for this, though. It sounds pretty great, I especially like the sounds of Peter David making it more character-driven. But I need to see more stuff gameplay-wise to make me excited.

Why are they trying to copy Batman AA by caving Spider-Man indoors for an entire game? He is an outdoors hero, let the guy swing around New York City as he has done since comics in the 60's.

When I heard the concept about Amazing and 2099 effecting the time frame, I thought this would've made a fun free roam game. I mean swinging around as 2099 and then having the entire city suddenly morph around you would've been amazing. But now, I'm just not interested after hearing it's a completely linear and indoor based game.

Even if the indoor thing is proven incorrect, it's still not free roam, and that to me...since Spider-Man 2 the game, it can't be done any other way.

And sadly, we're probably not getting much more information until June at E3.

Marvel has a few new screens

Nothing special, but know what I realized? The new Amazing Spider-Man design looks a lot like the design from the old PS1/N64 Spider-Man 2. Maybe it's just me.

^^ Like I said, the overall look is great. I just hope I can say the same for the entire game.

Beenox is being hush-hush about the villains for now, but I did hear one voice that sounded suspiciously like that of Hobgoblin (what would a Spider-Man game be without Hobgoblin?)

Every Spider-Man game in existence?

I'm not really worried about the game as a whole. I trust Beenox will do something interesting with the environments. But it is really lame when 75% of the moves in the trailer are reused. They even did the same slow-mo stand up as they used for the SD trailers.

Still, I would've loved for the game to have more time in development. And even tho I don't really care about 2099, its okay to me because then they get all this out of their system.

Could be fun. I'm already loving Amazing Spider-Man's art direction.

Doesn't look overly impressive. I'm sure it'll be a fun game, but I doubt it will be mind blowing. Then again, it is still early days.

I guess we can expect a movie tie-in game in 2012, which will probably end up being more fun than EoT. It actually makes sense for them to come out with EoT in 2011, and then begin working on the movie game.

.. What is up with Beenox and these stupid sub-titles? Shattered Dimensions & Edge of Time? Really?

Ehh, I actually don't like Amazing Spider-Man's new desgin. But, at least 2099 still looks awesome.

And where the hell can Spider-Man swing inside a building? Lol...watch, later in the game, you'll run into Alchemax's zoo and fight Lizard, hahahaha.

Stupid premise = stupid game.

No, bad idea. Have The Walrus instead. That would catapult it to Game of the Year territory.

From the ceiling? I don't get what is so bad about the game taking place in one location only. I mean, we knew we weren't gonna get a free roam Spider-Man, so what was people really expecting?

I'm still curious on how they'll fit in classic villains into Alchemax.

Have Osborn unexpectedly sabotage the rival company Alchemax as the Green Goblin the same night the Spideys working together, thus threatening their plans. Either that, or have Doc Ock attempt to steal from there in the same night.

Hopefullly something like that. They could easily fit in some villains that are scientists, like Lizard or Green Goblin. According to that Gamepro article they thought they heard Hobgoblins voice, which could be Steve Blum which could mean Green Goblin.
