Spider-Man: Edge of Time - Part 4

You brought up Batman Begins and since I WAS talking about Batman games, I tried to make your smart arsery relevant.

Also, it has a metascore of 6.5. So, if it wasn't Batman it would have been a 4.5?

That seems like a pretty stupid attitude to have... So if that game gets amazing scores across the board, you're going to assume it was because of the name 'Batman' rather than the games quality? Even though before AA, the Batman brand name was **** and ONLY became marketable again because of Rocksteady?

I wasn't being serious about it. I was being a bit of a smart ass :cwink:. AC will be an epic game but the exaggerated point I was making is that there is a bandwagon and yes, even the reviewers love to ride that thing.

Okay.... What I've learnt from this page of the thread is that everyone is a smart arse and I should never talk to anyone, ever :P

I actually thought that was a pretty good idea, FAR better than the supposed main villain in Walker Sloan.

It was a great way to explore the flaws of Peter Parker's character. Other writers far too often use the stupid alien symbiote as an excuse to explore his darker side. Having him eaten up by his guilt and develop and becoming desperate to save the people he loves shows how Peter's seemingly-wholesome character can actually be messed up like Batman in certain ways. Really loved his twisted take on the "With Great Power...." speech.

Not to mention he wasn't "emo". Future Peter still cracked jokes like the regular Peter would, and didn't dwell on the ones he lost that much. He was just crazy. Actually, the only flaw that I saw with this plot was that the revelation was too rushed and never saw what happened that killed his loved ones. A short flashback (especially with a Green Goblin cameo) would have been appreciated.

I disagree:
It would have been much easier for Peter Parker to just find a way to clone Mary Jane instead of screwing with the Space Time Continuum, because someone would have stopped him eventually and thus the plan is very sort sighted in a Comic Book Universe.

So that's what it is about, kinda reminds me of Spider-Man: Reign
What made him so young for that long anyway?

Except it's not as simple as that:

He wanted to correct the death of Uncle Ben, Gwen, and her father, whom he couldn't have had DNA access to. Not to mention that we don't know how MJ and the others died, so getting their DNA might have been more difficult than that. And considering how cloning made Black Cat 2099 bat-**** crazy, I doubt he'd risk such a mistake again.

Even then, you're missing the point. It wasn't just about missing his loved ones. He wanted to correct and improve HIS ENTIRE LIFE. He wanted to control time so NO ONE would be in harm again, which showed how far he was willing to go to save people. Again, a dark inversion of his compulsive need to save people.

What made him so young for that long anyway?

The anti-aging drug that Black Cat 2099 apparently takes.

Wow reading those spoilers I REALLY dig the story!! Sad that the gameplay itself doesn't seem that interesting and fun.

Gameplay seems fun enough
So Felicia is not a clone?
I'm interested

So, at least the story and storytelling for this game is any good?
I think I'll watch on YT if it is.

WOW, have I started a trend of some kind?
No more jokes Wolvieboy, you should do the same now

:D

I always do that to see if a game is interesting before I decide to buy it. I'm sure I won't buy EOT, but I'm interested to see some of the story moments if they're good enough.

You're not the first one to say you'd watch it on the tube, felt funny

Gwen's in Edge of Time?

I'm gonna rent this from Redbox. That is unless someone has all the cutscenes online?

I'm still willing to give this a chance, unlike X-Men: Destiny. Gonna rent it this weekend.
