Spider-Man: Edge of Time - Part 4

Why is the CEO costume given to Miguel and Peter's face is shown?

Because Miguel was never the CEO? :cwink:

And while I would have preferred a civilian Miguel skin, he never showed up out of costume in-game, unlike regular Pete and the CEO.

And the funniest thing: In the actual comics, Miguel DID become the CEO of Alchemax. He worked to improve the place and it's corruption, though.
Did the developers of Mortal Kombat use that as inspiration for making Sub-Zero the grand master of the Lin Kuei?

Currently fighting Black Cat. Beenox... what the f**k? -_-

Alright, just finished it. Honestly, it's not as bad as some people make it out to be. Yes it's short, yes it has few boss battles, but I still enjoyed it a lot and wasn't the least bit bored. Mostly thanks to the feel of urgency that is constantly present and the superb writing and the voice acting of Christopher Daniel Barnes and Josh Keaton.

Overall I give it a 7/10. It plays solid, the boss battles, except for Black Cat, are great. Especially the final battle is epic IMO. But there just isn't enough bang for your buck. You spend too much time beating up tons of goons and pulling levers. If it gets reduced to 20-30 bucks? I'll probably pick it up, just alone to be able to play as Spider-Man 2099, who is actually written properly this time. But at full price it just doesn't offer enough.

I still occasionally play Shattered Dimensions. The way the game is build, it's great to just pop in and finish a stage quickly. But with Edge of Time, I feel like I have to sit through it from beginning to end, if I plan to play it again. The story really makes the game, without that and the talent of the voice actors, the game wouldn't be all that interesting.

If it comes out for PC, I might eventually try it.

reply value seems little to none.
I don't know, I may replay it after I own it, and I always replay my Spidey games no matter how bad I may find them

I wouldn't say that entirely. It still has unlockable moves, costumes, and extra challenges, as well as concept art and figures.
Which is a good thing

If it comes to PC then I'll own it

Because they're racist bastards couldn't stand to make a CEO who was Irish-Mexican.
:hehe:

I'm definitely waiting for the PC version. Hopefully someone will make a mod that makes it possible to wear all costumes as either Spider-Man or Spider-Man 2099.

Web of Shadows has mods for other costumes, so I don't doubt this happening
I hope it happens too

I played a bit more. Did just enough challenges so I could get 2 costume keys to unlock Ben Reilly and the Black Suit. Ben Reilly's costume looks awesome, but I'm a bit disappointed in the Black Suit. Doesn't look like the awesome Bagley design like in Shattered Dimensions, more old school like the first appearance design.

Personally...I play games for the gameplay first and foremost. I watch movies and TV shows when I want strong story and dialog...those are just an added bonus for games. But I guess when you're only given basically a year to develop a game by a greedy corporation, that's all you can ask for to be quality in a short ass game.

I'll either wait to buy this game used for about $10-20 or I'll cave and rent it. But I'm no longer padding Activision's pockets for sloppy work like this with my favorite comic book hero. Spider-Man deserve WAY better treatment.

Unless it's something MP or Co-op centric, story has a bigger priority to me. If the characters and their world don't appeal to me, it can has the best gameplay in the world and I would get bored. That's why I even managed to finish Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness, which gameplay-wise must have been the worst Tomb Raider game, but I was interested to find out what happens next in the story.

Agreed. And it's exactly what I'm doing. Rented it, giving it back tomorrow and then I'll wait till the price drops.

Does it? Where can I find the mods?
I might play the game if there are. I have to renew my complaints since I don't remember so much of the game, but with extra costumes it'd be more fun.

Really? Would extra costumes make the game less repetitive and the story as well as voice work less horrendous?

Saw this video, don't know how or where to find the mods

WoS is just as repetitive as the fun iyo SD, I like WoS more
It'd be fun to add suits, but for each two suits you'll have to mod the game again

How hard is it to unlock all costumes? In SD to get the last ones you had to complete the web of destiny, which was a hassle so I never did. Ended up unlocking them all ('cept Manga-spidey) with codes.

Because I really want some of the costumes in EoT.

Of course not, but at least Spidey will have a different visual to look at, making things a little more diverse than last time.

Ok, I'll try to google it.

WoS is in it's own league when it comes to repetitiveness. Sure, in SD every stage is practically the same, as in you having to look for the villain with a shard of the tablet. But you've got tons of different areas and great boss fights. And the objectives and gameplay elements switch up often enough, to keep the experience still entertaining. In WoS, if you don't have boss fights, you get tons of repeating Missions, that have you hunt down multiple enemies, to dispose of them or collect parts. Over and over and over and over and over again... you get the picture.

And that's not even getting into the ugly, lifeless city (even before the symbiote infection), a story filled with so, so many holes, HORRIBLE voice acting, a few bad WTF? moments (Luke Cage teaching you moves you already know, ripping off Wolverine in half, trivia question bosses), a good/bad morality system that doesn't change the endings at all, the useless appearances of Marvel superheroes, the re-hashed boss fights, etc.

You can guess why it annoys me when people say WoS was better than SD. While it has some flaws, at least you could tell that some heart and thought was put into SD (and to an extent, EoT). I never got that from WoS.
