Far From Home Spider-Man: Far From Home General Discussion and Speculation - Part 2

The new trailer classification would fit in with the hints that Holland had been dropping.

Well as an actual 17 year old I can tell you I have a lot of classmates that act like him and even I could see myself reflected more than once.

Also, wasn't the fact that he doesn't need the technology the entire point of the third act of the last one?
But then he got the suit right back at the end...

The product of Stark industries is actually the perfect way of putting it.

Dude dust off the PS4 and play the game. Granted it does have some technical flaws without question but it’s hands down the best Spider-Man game and IMO one of the best interpretations of the character. The characterization was spot on. Truly did him justice.
Now I have the game and beat it, I just didn't know you could stop cars. Or at least I misintepreted what was said
Dude... I got a PS4 JUST for that game, and I don't feel I wasted a dime!! Here a carjacking scene. You have to tap a button, or you drop it...It's pretty slick.

Oh I misunderstood. I thought you meant I can walk in the street and stop any car. That's why I was so shocked.

I'm very similar I bought a PS4 on Black Friday for Spider-Man and Uncharted 4. I also got Kingdom Hearts III but I could've gotten it with my Xbox. Both great games. Spider-Man was awesome, great characterization, great story, great gameplay. I didn't like the MJ or Miles stealth missions though

I'm just not a fan of how far they went with him being a kid. Yes, he's 15-16... he's not 12
Yeah I kinda felt that, but then again I haven't been 15-16 in over a decade. So maybe it's changed or it was always like that but I didn't remember

I could've sworn she was already gone from Sony other than Spider-Man after the Sony hacks.

But then he got the suit right back at the end...
MCU is kinda weird with that.
Thor Ragnarok: You don't need the hammer. Infinity War: I need a hammer/axe
Iron Man 3: I'm retiring, AoU: I'm back but I'm gonna retire at the end.

They made her step down from running Sony to only producing the Sony Spider-Man stuff.

Yeah that's what I thought, but reading the article I see now. I should've actually read what it said first.

Anywho, I think Spidey will be fine

In civil war he held up a walkway to a plane which is a lot heavier than a car.

so
5 years has passed in endgame (not after endgame) but, peter look the same age because he didnt age when he was in the soul stone correct ?

Peter was never in the Soul Stone, or at least the movie gave zero evidence for such. He was just dead. Logically, people who are dead don't age.

Not a fan of Peter forfeiting/ignoring his responsibility as Spider-Man so he can hang out with MJ/go on vacation. That seems very uncharacteristic of the character

Do not get me started with the “scared of heights” situation....I remember watching that scene with my wife and she has limited knowledge of the character and the first words out her mouth as she looks at me was “ Calm down...breathe” lol....I can’t believe they would include that in the movie .
Why does that tick you off so much? FYI I know very little about comic Spidey.

I think as part of the Spider-Man deal there's one producer from Marvel (Kevin Fridge) and one Sony. It'll be interesting to see if this stays the case when the deal is re-negotiated and who will replace Pascal on the Sony side particularly because she's been involved with the Spider-Man films since the first Sam Raimi film.

Feige was involved since spiderman 2 if i'm not mistaken. Hopefully sony say they trust feige and let him carry on.

Because it completely went against his comic counter part who never ever had this issue. It was clearly established that the Spider bite gave him perfect equilibrium and also eliminated any fear of heights or being uncomfortable In those situations.

In an issue of ASM ( exact number escapes me, hoping someone can chime in) he goes to a scientist to “cure” him of his powers. After the process he goes to a rooftop thinking he can swing home and leans over the edge and suddenly feels dizzy and the fear of being so high finally sets in because his powers are gone and vertigo and so on sets in.

The fear of heights scene was simply thrown In to humanize the character more but he’s already portrayed so weak as a character in Homecoming that it just served to push him further down that hole. It also showed that the directors maybe didn’t do their research with the character.

Awfully convenient that all the people relevant to Peter Parker's school life got dusted away. At the very least some of them should be older. That honestly would've been a good way to age Betty Brant up to her comic accurate age.

That's probably Amazing Spider-Man 340, Chameleon stripped him of his powers there.

As convenient as the original 6 Avengers surviving the snap.

Eh, didn't he essentially do that in SM2 when he gave up the superhero life so he can focus on his romance with MJ? Granted in that movie it wasn't for a vocation with her per se but it was more or less the same thing. Actually, in this case, I think Peter isn't being neglectful of his responsibilities rather he's only taking a temporary break from it for awhile to clear his head a bit. Besides with all he experienced in the last two Avengers films - especially Endgame where...

He was dead for five years and his mentor Tony Stark died.
then can you blame him? It's only natural he wants a little respite from the superhero gig especially when something awful like that happens. He just wants to relax and take a breather after the intense life-altering experience he had.
