Far From Home Spider-Man: Far From Home General Discussion and Speculation - Part 2

Oh god damn I wasn’t even thinking about this and now you planted this seed in my mind. Paranoia is setting in for me lol

I’m far from a miles hater but in a perfect scenario Holland would star in 4-5 more movies and actually grow up with the character as well. Would love that. It’s not time for miles yet.

Yeah. Sorry. Ever since his uncle Aaron debuted in Homecoming, I've been paranoid they would rush it down that road.

what if the gut punch is they use zendaya in the gwen stacey role and she dies in this one?
Since the other two series didn't show any Gwen versus MJ drama for Peter I was hoping a Gwen who used to be in another class might show up

What if it's revealing that mj is Mary Jane? Michelle Mary Jane Watson? That could alienate some people.

I don’t know. I think they dropped the ball by not just naming her Mary Jane to begin with....was so weird and I still don’t get why they did that. I don’t think that kind of reveal would really get any emotional response other then some slight annoyance at this point.

From the sound of it this “twist” is going to really hit some people hard and be huge... However I also don’t think it’s going to be a death cause we are just coming off of Endgame and that whole situation....

If the twist is the opening up of the multiverse and bringing in Venom, linking it (even temporarily) to Spider-Verse, or just having Mysterio being an robot controlled via a link by another Mysterio from another universe, I'm cool. A death at this point seems excessive. I mean, Tony JUST died, and now here's another one on top of that!

Yea we don’t need Peter to have to deal with someone else in the movie where him grieving Tony is already a significant plot point.

I haven’t been on here very often, but I get the sense that there’s gonna be a big twist in FFH?

FFH will be the only chance to see a post snap world. The next movie hasn't even been announced. So Sony is setting the template for the future MCU

Tom Holland said they filmed something that’s gonna whip the rug out from under people and afterward he asked Jon Watts if what they just filmed is gonna be okay and Watts said some people are gonna hate it.

That sounds...really big.

It seems pretty obvious to me that Tom is talking about the Mysterio twist. Or maybe it's the "the monsters are illusions" twist. Or maybe Beck will be revealed to be MJ's father.

Looking at it now could the title FFH be referring to mysterio whos come along way from an alternate dimension? Previously I thought it was a meta reference re spidermans status in the MCU like hes back at marvel but not really hes actually further from home than ever before etc. But I like the idea that the title is referencing mysterios journey.

What if Mysterio is some sort of alternate Peter? I know I saw a theory that Mysterio is Peter Parker from the future, so maybe something like that?

Could have a double meaning referring to both of them. Peter in Europe and Mysterio in an alternate timeline.

They already did the meta title with Homecoming referring both literally to the homecoming dance and to Marvel finally getting Spidey into the MCU.

I was thinking something like Mysterio showing Peter like Tony melting or something just disrespectful. But idk

obviously dimitri anatoly is in the movie. do you think he‘ll be a shapeshifter like Mystique or just wearing masks. Shapeshifting could be too similar to the Skrulls (especially that nick fury is in the movie)

Is Tom in a suit there enhanced by CGI, or is that pure CGI when the situation doesn't need it to be?

The only twist would be if they play it totally straight with Mysterio and he’s not a villain.
That would surprise fans, but for the general audience it would not be a twist since most of them have no idea that Mysterio is a villain in the comics.

The Iron Spider? I'm pretty sure it's CGI

Why would Rhodey be upset? He is in no way capable of taking up the mantle, or at least the heroic niche, of Iron Man. He's not in any way shape or form a scientific genius.
Cuz it's just a funny meme that obliquely references the comic book history that in fact Rhoadey was "the next Iron Man" for a time.

Second black guy to put on the armor, and third guy who wasn't Tony Stark to take the mantle.

For me the school fight in TASM is still the best. it seems the most spider-man like. more from a creative standpoint in personality, use of power abilities and fun.

The Raimi action is often huge and fun but lacks the personality. if you changed up a few things and replaced spidey with superman it could be done easy,

I just pictured Superman in Spidey's stead in the seminal train scene.

Why is superman using his legs to stop the train? How did he shoot webs to the building facades? Why doesn't he use his flight to dislodge the individual trains and fly them off to safety? Why is he acting like Spidey?
