In a behind-closed-doors hands-off preview of PS4's Spiderman, Insomniac community director James Stevenson confirmed to PlayStation Trophies that the game will be 'four to six times bigger' than Sunset Overdrive (Insomniac's last open world game) and will be the biggest game Insomniac has ever created.
Stevenson also confirmed that you'll be able to free roam around 'the whole of Manhattan' with a web-slinging mechanic that's based on momentum and physics - that trailer in the Sony presser is pretty indicative of how the game will handle: we saw the same section played through again, but this time the player wasn't as fluid in navigating the various obstacles, so it showed that you do have a good level of control over Spider-Man and the game isn't just an on-rails experience.
isn't anyone else bothered by the web zip animations? I'm not against the inclusion of a web zip move and I know that in a game like this some creative liberties will break real world physics, but it has to at least look somewhat believable. It just looks dumb when Spidey yanks on a web and that just rockets him upwards. Sure it's handy in getting you precisely where you aim but couldn't they do something that didn't break the immersion so hard? like for example in the stealth section (since they already have that agility system) couldn't there be an emphasis on moving acrobatically instead of constant web zips which looks boring anyway? I would've preferred it that way. I hope there's still a choice to do it like that instead of transparently breaking laws of physics. But even so, it would feel lame to stubbornly not use the web zip especially when it's the fastest choice
At times the animation in the demo does have a bit of a hiccup. I'm guessing the game won't come out until October 2018 so that should give them more than enough time, I would think, to take care of those issues.
Does anyone know when the next possible time/event is coming around that might be another showcase for the game?

Gotham.I haven't played Sunset Overdrive either but here's an image of the in-game map:A map can be a bit deceiving so maybe someone that has actually played the game can chime in on how large of map this actually 'feels' while playing and going from coast to coast.![]()

His narration on the PS1 games still is a pleasure to listen to, I can say the same about his dialogue in The Amazing Spider-Man games and lines in LEGO Marvel, but his commentary on Shattered Dimensions is far less enjoyable to listen to.They should get Stan Lee to narrate the character gallery like in the PS1 game:
That would be awesome.
If I could add a 'like' system to the site, so I could like/favorite/+ this post, I'd do it. I'd then delete the damn thing because, for the most part, I hate those stupid things. Cool vid tho.

Spider-Man: Electric Boogaloo [/obligatory]I dislike the title of the game. Especially after going a whole year without knowing what it was. Marvel's Spider-Man is such a letdown. Especially considering how they set out to emphasize just how different this Spidey is and that its its own thing, the title ended up being rather generic
PSX on December 9-10 is the only one I know of, and I think they wanna keep developing the game in peace until that
PSX in December. Hope we get a more concrete release window. And yes they are going to polish the hell out of this, they always do.
