I think those eyes are way too white
Possibly. Neither of us really had the skill to recolour just the yellow parts so she just went over the entire thing with a bit of white... But considering Spidey's eyes are completely white in the comics, can you ever really be too white? :)

Then you haven't read them very carefully, then! He used his belt for Spider-Tracers, web cartridges, spider-signal, and other misc. items. I think he's even carried pagers and cell phones in it before. Hopefully, this movie Spidey won't run out of web fluid...!

Please try and read my post more carefully... I know he wears a belt beneath the costume! That's what I meant by "He does however use a real belt beneath the costume" What I was referring to (and what I thought the other poster meant) was that he never actually uses the red 'belt' in the costumes design. I thought I was agreeing that the red 'belt' was useless and meant only for good looks... :)

It always drove me nuts that Quesada designed it with three legs instead of four. Not only did it look stupid, but it made no sense.

Maybe they were afraid it might look too much like Doc Ock with four mechanical limbs... Personally, I think it would have been a great looking suit if they left the mechanical arms OFF.

Well, in most of the comics I read where he used that suit, the legs were completely retracted a vast majority of the time, but I didn't read all that many issues from that timeframe.

Yea, you really saw them mostly in promotional images or on the front covers... He never even really used them... I see no reason to ever even design them as part of the suit...

I think 2 shoulder legs would have been fine. And he used them a fair amount in Civil War

Or Invader Zim

I'm not familiar with Zim, but from that picture, I guess yea, it would look quite a bit like that as well.

Two would have been better, but none would have been best.
What annoyed me most about those arms was that yea he used them a few times... But when did he ever NEED them? They just took away from the Spidey we know and love... Imo

But wasn't that the point? It wasn't needed, it was excessive and indicative of his 'selling out' ot the registration side, which made it all the more symbolic a gesture when he ditched the outfit and returned to his black one for a time, in mourning for Cap. It's not like he wore the costume for long, and it was meant to be garish and over the top. It was like a nightmarish vision of Stark's mind. I think Tony, at that point in time, probably thought he could improve on every hero and thats what made him weak AND under estimate Cap. He was missing the crucial spark that made them all heroes in the first place, that most of those heroes weren't like him and didn't NEED hi-tech prosthesis.

Wow wolvieboy17, I completely forgot about all that... It's been a while. I guess now I'm just thinking too much about design instead of the story.. You're completely right.
Thanks for reminding me.
Still though, without the arms, the suit was an improvement... (Gliding, Stopping bullets [Not that he really needs that but still... I would definitely keep it.. haha])
Just sever the connection to Stark so that he can't control it in any way, and you basically have a metallic symbiote suit... (in the way that it can look like other costumes mainly)
But I'm so glad he didn't keep it.

It's not THE FUTURE, it's THE FUTURE FOUNDATION! GOOOOOOOOOSH! JEEEEEEEZ! :P
:funny: Hehe, not everyone reads comics so they wouldnt know what that is. But when you say Spidey replaced Johnny in the F4, everyone knows what you re talking about.
Yeah, I think it's pretty kickass. Like Spidey from the future.
It is, isnt it?
I like it too.

Yeah but in the animated series he also had a red ordinary flashlight. Here's an example of him using it underwater:

I know that. Only in the 90's series was it an ordinary light. Spectacular was the only show that depicted it as a "Spider-Signal". The Scarlet Spider, however, did have the plain red light.

Yeah, very true. It was used often mostly in the 60's, 70's, and 80's. He's used the signal on the belt to sort of scare criminals back in the old days and much more.

Yeah, as well as The Spectacular Spider-Man animated show. :spidey:

Then of course there was the 70's show where he wore the belt on the outside and never reached into it for anything. Ever.

Not when they've clearly established that it's a full bodysuit which attaches at the shoulders.

I wonder how he puts it on. It must be really stretchy material.

He did. The one set in LA with the bomb on the roof of that building as the climax--the white limo, he puts a tracer on it, and the tracker is on the belt, and it falls off when that brute chucks him off the building and he makes a web net to catch himself.

He didn't use the belt much, but that's one example of when he did.

It was in the 70s. It was as good as it could be. It tried and it had heart.

^^ Yeah, but it proved that a Spider-Man film/series probably wouldn't have worked to it's full potential back then.

I met Nicholas Hammond last year. I was involved in a celebrity Theatresports night and he was a special guest. Really sweet guy, but he got really offended when Kirk Pengilly started talking about drug days in INXS.

Exactly what MASSIVE and horrible changes did they do to the suit?

Well, I love those big white eyes Spidey has in the comics, but some things just wont work as live action.

Raimis Spiderman costume had white eyes, but it didn't have that bright white tone because it would look a little weird and distracting in live action
