Well said.Truthfully, the suit has grown on me,but I still wanna see how it looks in action. But,honestly,Raimi's suit was perfection for me.
Facepalm.

When I first saw the Batman Begins costume not in action just pictures... I was like "WTF is that garbage!!!"
Then I saw Batman Begins.
And the rest is history.
Get over the costume folks. It's really cool, not the original, but cool. And the movie itself is what counts.

You have so much to learn about superhero fanbases. They'll never stop. Not now, not when the trailer and then the film is released, and not in 10 years.
Overall, you make a good point.I don't get how the doubtful idea modern 3D cameras have an issue with Red & Blue justifies the costume changes?
Assuming the colors are somehow an issue, they are still there. The suit is still almost entirely red & blue.
The biggest changes, the leg stripes, no front belt, and silver trim boots, do nothing to alleviate any possible problem caused by the colors.
Sorry, I think that idea's a non starter.

They did that with Batman, TWICE (Burton/Nolan), and no cared to the tune of 1 Billion dollars worldwide. Batman suit was change about 99% (compare to Amazing's 15% costume change) from his original and classic BLUE/GRAY 70 year old suit, and no one gave a damn when it was time to pour into the theaters. Now he's sitting on the best comic book movie to date and the most successful single comic book film in history. The movie itself matters most (The Dark Knight proves this), Spider-Man has the classic suit in Spider-Man 3, but it couldn't save the film from being a piece flammable sh--!Bad decisions with the costume are usually a symptom of more bad decision making in other areas, like for instance, the story, characters, etc. The costume matters. You wouldn't cast an overweight actor with a bald spot for the role of Superman would you? There are certain expectations that have to be met. Using your logic, the aforementioned actor would be perfectly fine because the film is the only thing that matters. It's not. You think if Andrew Garfield was cast to play Superman that it wouldn't matter? What about if they made the costume black instead of red and blue? Cmon, use common sense.

We're talking about the costume not the casting? My point is we have a Batman movie that's the best comic book film to date (based on the majority of fanboys and critics), and his suit was change 99% from the original/classic 70 year old suit.Oh so Kevin James could have been cast as Batman wearing purple spandex and the movie would have been just as good as long as Nolan's script and direction was the same. Okay.
I sort of thought that's it. So, they changed the suit...for nothing? With current 3D technology, shooting the film in 3D has no impact on colours. So the red/blue costume has not been changed to accommodate for 3D, that is just wrong. The only thing that probably would have changed is that the costume would have been made to look quite bright but when viewed through 3D glasses it would appear the correct colour as the glasses darken the picture.
The suit could have been different by using this texture as well as changing the spider and eyes slightly. It could have been faithful and different at the same time. oh well, I guess.
Evolve? No, I highly doubt that. Spider-Man isn't batman. He doesn't re-design his suits every once in a while. He may fix things and and add different stuff to his web-shooters and such, but he wouldn't re-design his suit multiple times. Will it happen in this new weries? Maye, but I don't think it will.
