The Amazing Spider-Man Spider-Man Reboot Costume Part 4 - "What's that in his eye??" - Part 6

Do you think people would be pissed if his whole costume looked like that fabric?
Also, I think the sunglasses that he is wearing in that pic should have been orange, because then he could use that pair for the final mask.

The problem is that the yellow/orange lenses aren't the only lenses he uses on his mask. Hell, we hardly saw them in the second trailer.

Although Webb already mentioned those kind of lenses to being in the mask. If the director says it, then that's just the way it is.

It's possible that they're colour changing lenses of sorts...

I mean, the change from off-white/yellow/orange to black/silver/reflective is quite drastic. Unless one pair is only used during the day, and the other is only used in the night. Which seems to be the case.

I think there might be some layers to the lenses and when Lizard smacks him in the face, the reflective lenses com off. I don't think I have seen a pic or a scene where Spidey has those reflective lenses and his suit is all scratched up and dirty. I might not be remembering correctly though, so if you find a pic/scene where he is wearing those mirror lenses with his battle damaged suit, post it

^That's pretty cool, never thought of that.

But they've used the yellowy eyes in most of the promo stuff, which is why I don't think they're battle-damaged versions of his normal lenses.

oh right. Most of the posters have those yellow lenses with a clean suit and the new poster has those reflective lenses with a battle damaged suit. My idea has officially been demolished lol. I really want to see what the deal with those lenses are though.

Haha, yeah. Not gonna lie, I would love it if they have Peter use some sort of ski-goggle lenses/sunglasses lenses that change colour depending on the lighting.

Yeah that would be pretty sick. In day time I would want some reflective lenses and at night I could go for those yellowy lenses/the ones where you can somewhat see his eyes.

Hmm... :D

those lenses actually look like the shape of the lenses on the mask.

Those would look friggin' amazing now that I'm trying to picture it on the mask. and apparently, they are only 5 bucks on amazon:woot:

Two masks? Or do you mean two sets of masks being used, but it's supposed to be the same mask with the same lenses in-film.

It could be either that he has one pair of masks (one for the day, with sunglasses style of lenses, and one for the night, with more visible lenses appropriate for the darkness) or that in the making of the film, Webb used two kinds of lenses for cinematography reasons.

I lend to the second one.

I hope they wont over complicate this movie with the realism thing. I mean, I don't need every aspect of the costume explained

I think people are over complicating this. I remember reading somewhere that they made different suits for shooting at night, so I guess that applies to the lenses as well. But he does use the reflective lenses during the day and night. So it's probably more of a matter of what kind of look Webb wanted in specific scenes.

I would guess the latter

Yah, that's what I assume as well, but it doesn't hurt to make sure, lol. I'm sure Peter won't have two different masks...otherwise, he'd have two different suits, haha.

Marc Webb pays attention to detail and everything will work out in the end

Do you have proof that shows Marc Webb pays attention to detail? Lol.

Everything from the set pics to the trailer shows how much detail he put in the movie, but the nay-sayers will continue to give it a blind eye so they can have something to complain about.

The difference with the webshooter colors, the boots and the lenses speak differently. I'm not saying Webb isn't paying attention to the detail, but I'm also saying we've seen different looks of what I stated multiple times, even during the trailers and pics.

The new ASM online game (that is unbelievably terrible) has Spidey starting with his prototype suit (beanie, glasses, hoodie), and you gradually earn new items (web shooters, gloves, shoes) until you have the finished suit. I'm guessing we might see something similar in the movie, a gradual evolution leading to the finished design. And it may continue on into the next movie, adding a belt and such until the suit becomes even closer to the original design.

It seems kind of obvious to me that the different color lenses are just to create different effects during various scenes where the lighting changes.
