the gloves and the shoes make me want to throw up. i also hate the gold eyes.

besides that, it would have been a nice suit. i don't know who designed the changes, but the person did so with the intent to make it uglier...there's no other explanation.

I'm pretty certain you'll see a montage of peter picking up the seperate items like trainers and gloves and then making minor adjustements to incorperate them into the spidey suit.

It's not like the same thing is with batman or superman set pics

Actually, it has been the same thing with most of the recent Superhero films. People raged against Captain America, Thor, The Dark Knight and Man of Steel, all based on set photos. Remember padded fat stunt bike rider? Fatman? Plastic Thor?

When will people learn... It's all about the movie magic and the context.

Wolvieboy just made a post here :awesome:
Never saw that coming

Superman was never a guy in a body-mold suit....have you seen Cavill lately? He's filling up the suit himself. Those comments I hated the most, because they just sounded idiotic and to complain just to complain.

I love the new Spidey suit, although...I am starting to dislike the boots....hate to say it, but yes...I have a problem with the suit as of late. I thought I wouldn't, but I'm not really feeling that part.

The intent was to make it look like a high school kid created it. I'm sure it'll change with each subsequent sequel which will give us something else to look forward to. Eventually it'll end looking very much like the comic book counterpart.

I really don't mind the shoes.

The only part of the suit that bothers me a little is the back spider. I wish it was slightly thicker/bigger so it'd be more visible.

I actually hope they don't do that, as cool as that idea would be.

They've given us their interpretation of Spidey's suit, now let's see them have faith and stick with it. Regardless of the backlash it gets from some fans.

Look at TDK/TDKR suit... people (mostly just fans, in fact, I'm pretty sure it was only the fans) that complained about it, but Nolan still kept it... and that was nowhere near as close a representation of Batman's classic look as TASM's suit is of Spidey's classic look.

Well, the "shoes" themselves isn't my issue...it's the lining pattern around the shoes. I like the patterns anywhere else on the suit except for the feet/ankle area.

the lighting scheme of the suit is weird, bright blue in some shots, dark blue in others, bright red in some shots and dark red in others. the perfect balance is this;

Well I'm pretty sure Webb did state that was the intent. Whether it'll change in the sequels, who knows.

Some subtle improvements can be made without ruining the look Webb went for. Whiter eyes. Different spider motif. Less blue.

I know some claim it looks like a basketball (it kind of does) but I LOVE the texture of the costume. It doesn't look like Spider-Man is wearing pajamas like previous incarnations.

He stated what was the intent?

The only thing I've heard him say about the suit's look is that he/they wanted it to look like something a kid would make.

Whiter eyes, sure. I don't mind the blue/red balance and I love the spider logo.

The new wallpapers on the site confirm two things to me:

The gray crotch will be edited, as seen here:

That the crotch has a practical purpose, but not in the context of the film:

It's a camera/posing reference.

Think about it: Almost every major shot of him has him posing over his crotch.

That's a great looking costume. It's like a Ferrari. lol

The problem is, color is funny. Especially on reflective surfaces. Even if they don't color correct each scene, the colors are going to look different no matter what, depending on the lighting/color of lighting. Take any object in your house and look at it under street lamps, florescent lights, etc, and it will appear to have a different color tone each time, so it's impossible to have the exact same shades of red and blue throughout the entire movie. Ther will be subtle changes.

Holy crap, i just thought of why they designed the palms of the gloves the way they did.

Look at where the red stretches across his palm. Almost looks like padding or a different material to the rest of the suit...It's exactly where a web line would go when holding it. It's possible that he's got a material that the webbing doesn't stick to well/padding for his palms so they don't get sore after hours of web swinging...

Just shows there was a lot of thought in this costume than to just make it different than Raimi's.

^^^ it's probably been mentioned before...I've only just now thought about it -I'm usually just shaking my head when I see the gloves, lol.

Wow, that actually makes a lot of sense. Good thinking.
