The reason why I don't particular care for Star Trek Into Darkness is because it's a bad retread of Wrath of Khan, which isn't just uninspired but lazy. I was so disappointed that Abrams would have allowed something like that to happen after making Star Trek (2009) a sequel/prequel instead of a full on reboot. With that said, it's an enjoyable film with great action and absolutely beautiful cinematography. I even forgive them whitewashing Khan since Cumberbatch as Khan wasn't the problem. The Kirk death scene and the magic Khan blood definitely was contrived as hell, though.

And this is coming from someone who would consider himself a fan of the TOS films and 90s Trek who loves Star Trek (2009).

This. All of it.

There aren't many things that LITERALLY make me cringe while watching a movie, but Spock screaming "KHHHHAAAAANNNNN!!!" at Kirk's death was absolutely one of them.

I remember feeling a combo of irritated and amused by horribly bad that scene came off as.

I still wonder if Abrams included that line as a bit of a joke to poke fun at Shatner. If so, that's got to be the ultimate d**k move; shamelessly rip a movie off and then make fun of it at the same time.

Someone told me that he used "Sabotage" at the beginning of the first film to poke fun at Shatner, because Shatner has trouble pronouncing that word, supposedly. I have no idea if that's true though.

The proof is in the hilarious pudding:

That "sabataage" video was hilarious. Damn, Shatman.

It's crazy that the man is 85. He's full of energy and is always working.

In old age, you're more likely to die if you don't do anything and aren't stressed. Shatman is doing his longevity a favor.

I heard Fitz say sabatage I think on Ultimate Spider-Man.

But yeah, it's just how he pronounces it since Shatner is Canadian.

He is from Montreal. Apparently thats how they pronounce that word.

Ah ok. Of course, he was playing a guy from Iowa, so maybe he should have considered that, especially since he clearly COULD pronounce the word that way.

I wonder if at the end of the movie we get a rebuilt enterprise/new enterprise similar to "The Voyage home"

Surprisingly I'm warming up to the new uniform shirts.
