Very excited for this. Loved both ST and Into Darkness.

^ And Kirk's dad was friends with his upcoming villain!

And both involve generals orchestrating false flag attacks to frame the Klingons and justify increased military actions. The schemes are more or less the same despite commenting on different real life topics. The main difference though is that in Undiscovered Country its a lone actor orchestrating things. In STID though Marcus is in charge, Star Fleet and Federation themselves are much more complicit overall in the conspiracy.

It wasn't a lone actor in UC. It was elements of Star fleet, the Klingon Empire and the Romulan Empire that worked together to stop peace.

Okay but within Star Fleet it was more or less one guy. My point was it was a renegade conspiracy rather than the super secret official operations of the Federation itself.

Not really...in Star Fleet you had Admiral Cartwright, Lt Valeris, the two guys who went on Kronos One and did all the shooting but got killed at the end and Colonel West...the human discussed as a Klingon that takes a shot at the Federation President but gets blasted out of the window by Scotty...incidentally played by Rene Auberjonois who also played Odo on DS9.

However I will concede the point that while UC was a small rogue segment of Star Fleet...and that in STID it was the secret special operations arm of Star Fleet. However both were headed up by Admirals that thought they were doing the right thing only STID made the Admiral an actual villain while UC made him a loose end to be tied up.

Is Pegg wearing one of those Apple Watch things in that pic? Truly the future is now.

Never realized Pine and Shatner looked that similar. That facemorph looks like it's barely been altered from either.

nice lol.
If I keep blinking fast it seems to me that they flip from original to the new cast

Yeah, the one thing I do like about the new ones is that Pine does seem to embody how Kirk would've acted in his heyday.

It'd be nice to get a teaser before the year ends.

This new series has done a great job with the casting that's for sure.

Dear God we are going to be sitting through 20 trailers before FA

Holy ****, Takei-Cho is like a hard 9 by Asian standards! :hmr:
