Okay, I'm scared now. Pegg's "canon" explanation sounds dangerously similar to my "gay cosmic rays" theory a few pages back.![]()
We all know Simon Pegg is your Tyler Durden.
Do you know what this means? Simon Pegg reads this thread.Okay, I'm scared now. Pegg's "canon" explanation sounds dangerously similar to my "gay cosmic rays" theory a few pages back.![]()

Is the problem with Pegg's explanation maybe that it sort of perpetuates the idea that someone's environment or choices could turn them gay?
Nothing. It is the only way to see movies now - if you can afford it.
30 bucks a ticket. Moving seats. Air rushes at you. You're sprayed with water. Your seat kicks you and punches you matched to the action. And bullets shoot past you. Unsure how 2D films are in it, don't think I'd ever see a 2D film in it. Only 3D. Turns it into a simulator ride.
I have a similar view on it and technology as Walt Disney. The more technology to break that divide the better. Rides are just movies that move. Movies that move - have become rides. It's nuts. I love it. Although be careful about raining scenes - thry drench you, literally.

"The seat kicks and punches you" doesn't sound like a great selling point.![]()
Also don't care about selling anyone on it or not. Don't have a stake in it.

That 4DX gimmick baffles me. People ***** about loud rude movie goers and rowdy kids then they pay to have their seats bumped and water and air thrown at them.
Film and cinema shouldnt be a theme park ride.
That is what I was wondering. Saying it is a different universe and thus Sulu could be gay made it sound quite a bit like, you know, he wasn't born gay, he was somehow made gay.Is the problem with Pegg's explanation maybe that it sort of perpetuates the idea that someone's environment or choices could turn them gay?
Sounds like you do though...
It's like i'm reading a infomercial.

Praise Marvolo, the bringer of truth. That 4DX gimmick baffles me. People ***** about loud rude movie goers and rowdy kids then they pay to have their seats bumped and water and air thrown at them.

Wait so, now that Sulu is played by a straight actor he is gay?
It is fine if you ignore the obvious implications. I love Pegg, I defend him all the time. He should have never said that. Never. It's simple since they announced this. This is an alternate universe where this Sulu is gay. Which is fine.
The only person who really can have a dog in this fight is Takei, other than that, this is pretty meaningless to all of us.
