Hires shot of the two ships.

Just thought of something, isn't Harrison part of a secret organization within starfleet? Perhaps the ship is a part of that. A black ops group that does off the books espionage stuff.

I bet whatever it is it is a stealth ship. Yeah its huge, but the color and hollow saucer make me think it is meant to be hard to detect.

Part of me thinks that isn't his ship. It is the ship sent to get rid of Harrison and Kirk.

So, if robocop is evil, perhaps Harrison is a part of those experimented on, abandoned.

And feeling sore about it he hijacks the biggest most dangerous gun ship the federation doesn't want anyone to know about.

Its even bigger than the D or E. Might have Starfleet put something like this into production in response to the Narada's incursion?

Possibly, probably likely. Would explain those shots of Harrison in the chair. He is going to be Khan in everything but name at this point.

They'll probably go as far as to have a meaningless Moneypenny/Robin reveal.

I wouldn't think so. After all, they didn't really know much about the Narada's existence before the events of the first film, and that isn't long before Into Darkness begins.

In the new trailer, there is a moment when Kirk says "Are you with me?" And I swear it looks like he is talking to Harrison.

What if towards the end Kirk finds out about the secret crooked **** going on in Federation and he comes over to Harrison and wants to bring it all into the light and the secret organization lauches the Dreadnaught to take them both out.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Yes, very possible. I am quite sure at this point Harrison and Kirk will team up at some point. It would make sense if it is Kirk and Harrison making the "jump" in space.

At some point though I expect Harrison to be in charge of a ship, probably the Dreadnaught. At which point he "goes down with the ship", possibly heroically, to save his "family".

That would be great stuff for Cumberbatch to work with. We've seen him all big bad and sinister in the trailer and I really hope that isn't all there is to him. The idea of Kirk and Harrison, two unlikely allies, sticking it to some crooked federation sector is far more interesting to me than a typical wronged dude seeks revenge.

My first impression of Monster!Ship was -- like a lot of other folks -- that it looked like Enterprise E.

But the more I look at it, the more I see resemblance to the reboot!Enterprise than anything else (though I see Excelsior class in it too). The overall shape is pretty similar: the belly curves the same, and the warp nacelles are shaped the same. The saucer does lean more Galaxy class (minus the giant hole), but I think the shadowy lighting and paint job are making it look more later!Trek than its design really is.

I am completely with you. I want some more here, something different. I am cool with the wronged dude thing, but sometimes it is repetitive. Would explain the "family" line I think as well as the shots of Harrison saving Kirk and crew from the Klingons. Heck, it might even explain the hallway shot where Harrison is kicking butt as crew members look on.

It would be a hell of a thing if Harrison isn't the true villain. Having the federation, a part of it anyways, be the actual villain...now that's interesting.

I wonder what will come of the thing about April's old Enterprise mentioned in the prequel comics.

Does this enormous ship have anything to do with it

Not really the Warp Nacells are way higher and far more bulbous.

Man, the MoS trailer anticipation completely overshadowed the STID trailer.

That shows you how much people are looking forward to MoS (not that they aren't looking forward to STID).

I'm more looking forward to STID much more than MOS. And I'm more of a Superman fan!

I'm so confused now!

I think in the case of STID, people adjusted to the low-key and nondisclosure of the plot/Cumberbatch in the marketing. They're hyped, but they know they're going in for something they won't expect.

With MoS, people are just absolutely hungry for anything because, well, it's Superman, and it's been 7 years since SR. There is more unsatiated hunger for MoS, whereas the anticipation for STID is one of patience.

This new trailer is full of WIN.

STID has also simply released a lot more material than MoS at this point, so it makes sense for there to be more hunger for MoS stuff.

Kirk's "I'm sorry" was by far my favorite moment of this trailer. And my brain hurts trying to figure out the existence of that giant Enterprise-looking ship, lol.

This other ship looks extremely bulky, it looks more like a tank.
