I'm surprised it didn't already have one, considering all the comics and associated stuff they've produced. If Transformers can get a subforum, Star Wars should qualify as well.

I think we should. It's such a massive franchise, with comics and video games ect. and with a new wave coming in the next few years, there will be lots of talk.

All lol. I know I would do anything to work on a Star Wars film.

Eh, I'm just not sold on the idea that Lucas would be so willing to walk away from his baby.

At his age and for 4 billion dollars im not surprised. It seems no one in his family wanted the company or he couldnt trust them to do it right. Lucas has always been about getting kids into star wars and disney can do this without pandering to them. Id say Lucas trusts disney to keep star wars alive. He gets to "consult" but gets the weight off his shoulders.

Yep! Its surprising considered the amount of Dark Horse comics are out there that their wasn't some kind of Star Wars forum.

I love the OT, love the PT and love the CW and I'm stoked to see where things go next under Disney. If you're not no biggie, but the fact remains whatever parts you do love will still be there regardless.

The EU is likely to go out the window. My two favorite Star Wars stories are The Thrawn Trilogy and Dark Empire... unless one of those is being adapted for 7-9, I'll be dreading 2015 until news comes out that says they are being used, or that they timeline is jumped so far forward that they won't be effected.

I was just about to say I had hopes for Timothy Zahn's novels to be adapted to the big screen. He's the only author I consider to capture the essence of the original trilogy.

Awesome, with so much Star Wars to talk on so many mediums I say yay to that.

Actually I think Disney got Lucasfilm for dirt-cheap. Hell I think the Star Wars name alone is worth 4bil. On top of that they got Skywalker Sound and ILM which are the top of their communities.

When you put it that way it does seem like Lucas could have gotten more. Could it be that lucas is sick and isnt thinking straight? Or perhaps he wanting to tie up up his stuff.

Disney bought Pixar for 7Bil.

I don't think there's a chance the Thrawn trilogy is going to get adapted, much as it pains me to say it.

I think he has not been thinking straight for 20 years lol. I think it's the opposite he is thinking straight.

But I Think he just wants to get out of it. Good for him. ILM does have great competition against WETA now though. But they did get a good deal. But it's not like George will run out of money.

IMO, this is bigger news than Disney buying Marvel.

Wow. And you know what, I'm fine with it. To a point. IMO, the prequels where awful films. Lucas just seemed to lose focus on what made Star Wars enjoyable. He seriously changed the direction with those films.

Here, there is a chance to do what happened with Empire. Lucas gives a story, a taleneted writer to get the screenplay together and a director who knows how to do action and character.

One can only hope.

I think it will jump well beyond that personally, so your stories should remain in tact.
