Star Wars - Part 7

You could argue that ESB's title crawl has indicated he's learned the truth:

"The evil lord Darth Vader, obsessed with finding young Skywalker..."

But then the scene with the Emperor doesn't make any sense because Vader acts like this is a very casual surprise to him.
It seems that Vader kept the information secret from the whole Empire, and acted surprised when the Emperor told him about Luke. He may have hoped to find Luke and turn him to help strike down the Emperor, which he later purposes to Luke near the end of the film, before anyone else knew what he was doing.

He did the same this with the Galen Marak (Starkiller) from The Force Unleashed.

Well, this might not be a valid point, but according to Wookiepedia, the Jedi code clearly states that Jedi do not kill unarmed enemies, which is exactly what he did. I know it might not be canon for the movies, but I still think he did wrong there. But that is just my opinion :cwink:

They aren't unarmed, they have claws that act as weapons, they are creatures that can swarm you in numbers.

He's not surprised because the Emperor doesn't reveal anything. Watch the original - not the SE.

No he didn't - but he did know that the force was strong with him.
Agreed. I would say it was after ANH and before ESB that he found out who the pilot that destroyed the Death Star was and he put two and two together. Doesnt seem there were many Skywalkers in the galaxy :p

I've always loved the concept version of both Vader and Luke by Ralph.

This would make an awesome diorama, obviously you would only use a couple of the 501st troopers but it'd be an awesome idea for Sideshow to do IMO.

Clearly when Obi Wan hid Luke he didn't follow WITSEC protocol! :funny:

I'd like to see your collection of Star Wars heroes busts and statues.
I'll get to this. I thought I had pics of the other shelves but I made some additions/subtractions. Got rid of my old Darth Maul and Episode II Obi-Wan, got Admiral Ackbar, Ghost of Obi-Wan, Darth Sidious and Episode III Obi-Wan.

I still wonder if Rex was there in this moment. For some reason i get the feeling he wont be...

:funny:. Do you think it was a deliberate move by Yoda and Obi-Wan though? i cant help but get the feeling that they knew Luke would play a vital role in the future and it was his destiny to face Vader at one point.

Erz: here, here! the batboards are insane lol. Order 66 must be put into play :cwink:

Looking at the new Clone Wars trailer, anyone know who this is?

Very ahead of its time if you ask me.

Bane totally bit off of Luke's fashion sense. Best recognize Bane ol'boy. :funny:

Heh! :D There's a real underwater look about that original Luke design, like a futuristic Thunderball.

Well Rex was created for the Clone Wars toon and I feel his arc will end with him going his own route....or Anakin killing him. :(

Yeah I think the plan was always for Luke to understand a degree of his identity as Obi Wan and Yoda knew he was the last hope.

In one of the biofiles for the TFU2 there is a mention to Commander Rex as a mentor of somewhat on Kamino after the events of the clone wars. They could change it but if the TFU2 is cannon then well he survived.

I just realized something. In the Clone Wars cartoon, there was an episode regarding a deserter of the Clone Army, who went ahead and had a family. If he could go against the programming of the Republic, don't you think that a few of the Clones could have went against Order 66?

Or can it be explained away that Clones who resisted the programming were 1 in a million?

If I remember right...Order 66 had to be sent over communications channel. So even after the Order was issued...the Clone Deserters would not have been affected as they did not hear the order.

As for refusing an order...I don't think they have a choice. It's imbedded into their genetic makeout. That's the only way to explain why Clones Obi-Wan worked with would instantly turn on him. They are sleepers.

My point is the deserters are going against the imbedding in their genetic makeup in becoming deserters.

This is why we need a show/cartoon set between ANH and ESB.

Precisely why i'm wondering about Rex.. If there's a clone that has it in him to disobey an order it's him, not to mention that the deserter episode featured him and in the end he didnt report the clone. I cant help but feel that despite his programming Anakin could rub off on him somewhat and make him question some orders (like we've seen him do). Could it get to a point where he flat-out refuses to go along with something he sees as wrong? i dont discard it.

If there's a clone that wouldnt disobey an order it's Cody imo; he's always portrayed as very by the book and reserved, same as Obi-Wan. It's possible that the jedi general could have an influence in the clone that is with him for the most time. All speculation in my part of course, but that's how i feel about this subject based on what i've seen, specially in CW where we've gotten to know the clones individually. Despite being clones they display individual traits just like the rest of the people.
