Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II

Or maybe it's not a clone, and the real Starkiller survived somehow.

Its Star Wars, nothing is too far fetched.

I think that could explain the clone having Mareks memories, if this Marek is actually a clone of the real Galen Marek.

lol, I seriously thought that as soon as I posted "to far fetched" I was like "Um...It's Star Wars..."

Yea, i guess that is possible. I mean, he appeared dead at the end of TFU and both Vader and Palpatine appeared to be convinced that he was dead but its possible he survived, Vader kept him alive and tried to clone him.

I think the 'failed before' line is just referencing other clones that Vader tried to create that didnt work. Then he finally got one working and previous memories of the real Galen Marek started to show up with this clone. Altho, i guess its possible that this is the real Galen Marek. I mean we all thought he was dead, but its possible he never died and instead of killing him Vader just tried to clone him. So who knows?

ah I got yah. In that case I defo think a switch over happened in the first game when vader blew him out into and retrived his body. There was also a time gap after that happened. So it's the perfect place for a clone to take over, while starkiller was still captured/healing. I'm goin to play through the game again I think.

The trailer is good enough, but of course a massive cut scene trailer will be. I fear that this will be more of the same substandard hack and slash game play of the original. :(

Yea there was a time gap but id assume it was fairly short. Im pretty sure that wasn't a clone from that point on. I dont think Vader ever had intentions of cloning him until after he and Palpatine realized just how powerful he was, which wasnt until his battle with Palpatine.

I honestly didn't mind how the first one played. I want the saber combat to be better in II. I want it more "realistic", like...Stormtroopers should NOT be able to take more then one hit without losing a limb, if they fear that would make the game to easy then throw a BUNCH of Stormtroopers at me.

Also, give me a better lock on system (which the gameplay video seems to hint that it has) those were my only real gripes with the game and I managed to pretty much over look them because the story was so good.

I'm really undecided about this game. The first is one of my favourite games of this generation, so I'm seeing this in two ways; on the one hand, it will be a fantastic gaming experience much like the first, but on the other, I fear the brilliant and moving ending of the original will be ruined by a subpar sequel.

Anyone else feeling this way?

No, I honestly feel that they HOPEFULLY listened to some of the complaints they had about the game and improved on it.

The early previews said they have. They took both player and critic feedback and started fixing everything. From the targeting system, to faster menus and the addition of dismemberment.

Yea i kind of know where you are coming from. Im hoping the sequel can have a story just as good as the original game. Hopefully they arent just giving us more of the same and are truly focusing on giving us another great story in the Star Wars saga.

I just saw a live demo on IGN.com (they should have the clip later today, or maybe tomorrow). It looked awesome! It started with Starkiller free falling from a tower on Kamino, which looked impressive. He used force push to destroy the environment, including TIE fighters, as he was falling. The lightsaber combos looked good. It was nice to see arms flying! I didn't notice any legs being cut off though. The force powers looked good and mind trick looked cool. It was funny seeing stormtroopers jump to their death.

What I found nice, was that he gripped a TIE fighter as it was passing by and he just crushed it into a ball. They showed a carbonite droid (it can freeze you) that had a huge shield. He used ligthsaber throw a couple of times and then he finally removed it with grip and he finished it with a QTE (although there was no hud, so no buttons appeared on screen). Then there was a part where you were running in a hallway and there was a ship shooting at you from outside, destroying the place and there were also stormtroopers in your way. After that he crushed the ship using grip.

The final part had 2 AT-ST walkers. They didn't put up much of a fight, because he used force furry (it makes you even more powerful), crushed one using force grip and then threw it at the other one. After that, there were 2 waves of stormtroopers. He used force push (while in force furry) at the first group and they flew away and he attacked the last group with his lightsabers. He cut off some heads :D. The demo ended with Starkiller arriving at Vader's TIE. The cutscene didn't trigger during the IGN demo, but I saw it on GameSpot. It showed Vader going towards the TIE as Starkiller flew away in it.

Looking pretty awesome already, first game is one of my favorites, can't wait for this to come out

I understand why, but i hate how the enemies disappear once you've dispatched them.

thats how I feel with any game, I understand there systems probably cant handle that much on screen but it looks funny when people just evaporate into the floor.

Awesome video.

Dismemberments!! I just saw some troopers heads getting chopped off. :awesome:

Did I hear right? the guy from Lucas arts said this was their "Empire Strikes Back" of their trilogy. So there's going to be a third one?

I think he meant this one was just gonna be a little darker.

I dare say Blackman wants a trilogy at the least.

Wasn't all that impressed with the gameplay, seemed like not enough of an improvement on the original's. I'll wait till I'm actually playing it to condemn it to 'same **** different game' however.

Depending on sales, im sure they want this to be more than a trilogy, but i still think that comment was more in line with this game being darker than the 2nd game in a planned trilogy.

Oh yes, I agree, I wasn't disputing that that was what he meant I was just saying he probably does intend this to be at least a trilogy.

Yea, agreed. As big as TFU was, a trilogy should easily be expected.
