Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II

Obi-Wan beat Vader because Vader was cocky... and stupid at the time. Luke beat Vader because (IMHO) he's the real chosen one. Galen.... is a clone.

A clone shouldn't be able to beat Vader. That's like having Boba Fett punk out Vader... I love Fett but... he wouldn't beat Vader.

I'm just going to believe that Vader let himself lose.

Just beat the game on hard for my first playthrough took about 10 hrs and omg the final confrontation was epic. I have no idea why people are complaining about the story it's decent nothing wrong with it. Besides the cliffhanger at the end which makes you think how Are they gonna wrap this up.

Thats why i dont believe Galen is a clone. He made a good point by telling Vader that the reason Vader told him he was a clone was so that it would confuse Galen thus making it easier for him to fall to the dark side. Plus, you cant successfully clone a Jedi, this "clone" was pretty damn successful. Galen also "chose" to spare Vader. Clones arent supposed to have free will like that. They have protocol.

Galen beat Vader in the first game, no reason why he couldnt do it again.

Yea theres nothing wrong with the story in terms of how it fits into the lore, it just wasnt nearly as epic as the first games story. With the frst games story there was that massive "Ohhhhhh, so thats how the alliance started" where as with this one it was, 'oh well thats neat, i guess'.

To be honest I felt like this game was based off a movie. The plot was not really game material. But I enjoyed the game and since I consider these games a part of the Saga, I'm glad I bought it. Only thing that buged me was how short and pointless the Yoda scene was, and Fett did not do anything helpful in the Empire's case. All I know is if we don't get a third game than we better at least get dlc because they can't end this story like this.
For my own pleasure
I'm always looking for a General Grievous referance in every Star Wars game I play. I noticed two things. One that the Terror Troopers and Terror Biodroids are without a dought based off Grievous. Two when you unlock the Jedi Knight achievement they use a picture of Grievous to represent it.

I agree and was thinking the same thing. This almost felt like a film adaptation. Agreed on the whole Dagobah level as well. Really pointless. Also agree about Bobba Fett. I mean he was present in that he captured Juno and brought her back to Kamino but we didnt SEE him enough. Hopefully we see him either in DLC helping to free Vader or thats how the next game kicks it off. They HAVE to close out this story.

Guldernit... I'm going to have to get it. I keep going off of what other people say and one should never do that. I may scrounge a few games up and trade 'em in on Fable so I can take it off of my Christmas list (two games, lol... ) and add TFU.

Grrr... I'm such a Star Wars ****e.

Also: They NEED to make a Bounty Hunter II staring Boba Fett. Please.

Did you get the feeling Vader was trying kill the last good piece of SK? It was very similar to what the emperor did in rots dangling padme's life with the only way to save her was by serving him.

Fett is relatively off-limits as a starring character in anything until Lucas finally gives up on the idea of a live-action TV show (as I understand it, anyway)

Yeah, so I've heard. If Fett EVER gets a live action TV show I'd like it to be about his escape from the Sarlac... since that's like the only EU thing Lucas said that he liked.... that and Han and Leia getting married "makes sense."

Does anyone else think that the first game should've been the only one, despite the good things about the second?

With all I'm hearing about the second game, it just feels like it shouldn't have been done.

Yea i can see that. IMO, there was a great story to tell with the first game, with this one, it was lets just make another game, dont worry so much about the story. Its not nearly as well thought as the first game. This one wont be winning any awards for storytelling.

Yea i did catch that and thought that was one of the better pieces of the story. I loved Vaders line at the end that went something like "As long as she lives, i will always control you". I thought that was a really kick ass line. I also felt it went further into proving that this Galen Marek is the real one.

I recently started the unleashed campaign and it's truly more of a thinking game. The enemies are not stronger nor are there more of them. The damage they inflict is just more and the recovery is less. I actually was getting killed by three storm troopers because I actually missed a strike which allowed a trooper to out flank me.

Hm, i might try that then. Generally the "hard" setting just makes everyone stronger which i always hated.

I just finished the game, I really liked it. It definitely does feel like there is about 5 hours cut from the middle and that is disappointing. The last few levels have a pretty awesome epic feel and the final battle was awesome. Reminded me of Link Vs. Ganondorf in Twilight Princess. Even though it ended not the way I was hoping, it sets up nicely for number 3 and was a pretty good ending. I especially loved[BLACKOUT]when Vader was just sitting there while Starkiller talked to him and than he busts out the bad ass one liner to end it. Sends chills down my spine.[/BLACKOUT] The visuals are breathtaking and the facial animations in the cutscenes are ridiculously fantastic. I'd say that I love the combat and visuals better in TFU 2 than TFU. The only things that disappointed me were the patheticly short length for a single player game and the story is a pretty weak. It's a shame to because there are a lot of interesting and cool ideas within the story but none are fleshed out at all like they should be.

the problem with the game, as the developers said, is that they wanted to do "less, better". And that, as a genuine motivation is fine, but the problem is that you can't really have that mentality for a sequel to a large and epic game like TFU 1.

Their less is more approach went too far, imo. As many have said, the story took a major beating. I don't mind it being a slightly more personal story, but to limit it to "some dude goes to see his girlfriend but runs into trouble on the way" was TOO much of so little. As another poster said, it really felt like 5 hours were cut out of the middle of the game. And honestly, when Vader has Juno and tells Starkiller to hunt down Kato, I assumed that I was only at the half way point (and was subsequently VERY disappointed when the ending played out).

I found myself wishing we had the huge collection of combo moves like in the first one, tho admittedly, i only used maybe 10 moves from the first game. But options are always nice to have. This is not to discount the combat here - it was simple and fun. I would have liked to have seen more variety in the grapple attacks though.

Playing on a PS3 I found the graphics to be great, and was impressed with the cutscenes and little details (the smoke from a zapped jumptrooper was fantastic), but i was surprised that some of the distant landscapes and buildings in the background (like when your trying to save Kato) were REALLY bad.

I think the challenges are a nice touch, but i wish we got the multiplayer like the wii. I think that too would help lessen the sting of such a short game.

I'm not sure what score I would give this game. The things that it does well, it does really well, and were it needs polishing, it'd take a lot of effort. This game seems to sit perfectly in game purgatory - its not a bad game, but it falls short of being the epic tale that we waited for and the publishers promised.

I'll give the game a 6.5/10. The weak story and subsequently incredibly short single player really kills it for me.

They'll probably releases *several* DLC level packs for this to "extend" the life of the game. I also won't be surprised if the DLC takes place in the middle of the game or something....

or bonus levels based on film locations like in the last game with Hoth and Tatooine

it would be pretty cool to have Corusant, Alderaan, Yavin, etc.

or a slasher level where you go to Jar Jar's home planet and slaughter all of them

which would be fine if the game itself wasn't so short. I didn't pay 60 bucks for a 5 hour game that has no multiplayer to justify it, only then to be charged even more money if i want to have a game with a respectable length.
