Edison Rex

I haven't read this yet.
But I think I'm gonna heck it out pretty soon, It sounds right up my alley. Sort of like, "what if Silver Age Lex Luthor beat Silver Age Superman... what then?"

And I love the old school art. It reminds me of Archer or something...

Looks interesting
And the description of what it looks like to you, might check out a few issues of it

I have to say, the entire Dragon Ball thing just went completely over my head. I think by the time it got big in the west I was a little too old for it maybe? Eh, I dunno...

In any case, yeah, I have nothing for this guy... I like his hair. :hehe:

I've not seen too many episodes of DBZ, but of the ones I've seen, they're very good, especially the fights between characters. Of the recent film version....what a waste of time & money. Overall, the animation is top notch.

He can't beat Superman, that's all
Bruce Timm's DCAU Superman is another case

Some say the same about comics in general

Oh, don't get me wrong, I didn't mean that in any kind of asinine 'pffft, I'm so much better than that kiddie stuff' sort of way. I hate that kind of thinking.

Nah, I just meant that by the time it came to my attention I was getting interested in other things and didn't really care to check it out.
All this time later, it still doesn't grab me ...

Worry not friend Wes, I did that tongue in cheek thing

The series has its moments, some of them are really fun

And then you have moments like this pure hearted hero sending an exploding villain to a planet inhabited by an alien trainer and his ape, to kill all 4 of them (Villain, Goku, Blue, the Ape), and the planet explodes
And one moment of burst another villain just farts, destroys Earth, moves on to other planets, reach a Valhala sort of planet and fights the dead there, sense Goku and Vegeta, pseudo-Valhala survives, Goku kills Majinbuu with the help of Earth people shouting "Satan" for hope (forgetting the planet blew up).......

You're not missing anything by not sitting through this

I like Dragonball. It was a great series.

And yes, Goku probably could beat Superman. :o

Covers inspire = Can kick your @$$ real fast if you try touching his pendant
Panel = Kick him in the balls, no problem

the rest i got no clue but Goku not GOKU THAT DUDE IS THE &^%$!! I FREAKING LOVE THAT DUDE! easy going, kick your planetary bad guy freeza ass he will! Oh baby! can you dig it!!! ( but no way would he beat superman! hehe):cwink:

I remember the show. Was pretty promising, Shame they canceled it.

never saw the comic.

And yes, he probably could beat Superman. It's simple. Just as strong, just as fast, but the key difference is he's a waaaaaaay better fighter.

I haven't read the comic, but I love The Muppets. I mean, who doesn't? Broken people, that's who. :o

I love the Muppets, especially all their crazy, wild, adventures they go on. Love Fonzy, Ralph, Scooter, Gonzo, Kermit, & Missy Piggy. I always laugh whenever Piggy gets angry & decides to punch Kermit across the room, hilarious!! :woot:

It's Scott McCloud's cult title from the 80s.

Scott McCloud being the guy who wrote the acclaimed "Understanding Comics" book some of you may have on your shelves, the one that teaches you how to put together a comic:

Anyway, this is his actual comic series. I've been meaning to read it for a while but I don't think I could find it anywhere the last time I was interested.

From Wiki:

"Zot! is a comic book created by Scott McCloud in 1984 and published by Eclipse Comics until 1990 as a lighthearted alternative to the darker and more violent comics that predominated the industry during that period.[1] There were a total of 36 issues, with the first ten in color and the remainder in black and white. McCloud credited Astro Boy creator Osamu Tezuka as a major influence on the book, making it one of the first manga-inspired American comic books...

Jenny Weaver, a normal lonely girl recently relocated to a new town, stumbles across Zot, a superhero from an alternate world who is chasing a troop of robots in pursuit of a key that will open a door hanging out in space. Jenny returns with Zot and her brother Butch to his world. They retrieve the key and take it to the authorities, but it is stolen again. Eventually their pursuit leads them to Sirius IV, a drab theocratic planet, home of the key. While there they uncover a plot to use the key, and the subsequent door opening, as an excuse to lead a holy war against Earth. To foil the plot Zot and Jenny take themselves through the door where they converse with the spirit of Sirius IV. Once out again they lead the revolt against the acting leader of planet who is tricked into goading his subjects on live television. Zot defeats the tyrant, but refuses to lead the planet, stating that they must learn to look after themselves."

Looks like a lot of fun I think:

Though it would be pretty funny if it was somehow terrible... given that McCloud's built a career on showing people how it's done. :hehe:

Sounds....interesting....I guess.

I don't know why but it reminds me of the plot of the old Laser Tag cartoon.
