Harry Osborn was never Peter's BFF. Flash was. Always had been. Their dynamic is a fun one. He hated Peter, yet worshiped Spidey. He genuinely matured, became pals with Peter, and was part of what was now Peter's click. Harry was better off dead. I dunno, I just don't remember any "friendship" between Peter and Harry, other than being roommates, and in college, I had a roommate I hated. That doesn't make them bros. Its just Marvel retroactively adding layers to those two nowadays just to make them seem like bros. because then they can really play with the whole Peter-Harry-Spidey-Norman drama, made even sweeter if we pretend Pete & Harry were the best of kin. Or maybe I'm still missing a lot of issues where they seemed like best friends and not just roomies that hung out.
Anyway, Flash made a better bud, and now he's Venom. Now the Venom rant...hmmm...wow. He is soooooo not Gargan. That's a plus. Hmmm...I like him as Venom. I was skeptical at first...I tried giving Gargan a chance...but Flash has really nailed the gimmick with his own twist. But lately I've been falling out of love with his current stories. I'm praying after Circle of Four (ongoing Venom arc now) that will change. I also have a few other issues with his Venom. I'll spare you those details. Hmmm. I guess I'm really liking Flash as Venom, a hiccup here or there, tho.
If I had MY GODDAMN WAY, Flash would stay Venom permanently (fully bonded to the symbiote with an editorial mandate that Flash and the alien CANNOT BE SEPARATED) and Eddie would permanently be Anti-Venom (similar mandatory editorial ruling).
