Stephen King's "IT" remake has found a writer - Part 2

Man, that clown laugh gives me the chills.

Pretty good. The dialogue between the kids does feel a little unnatural, like the writer wants them to be super witty.

That's kinda how it was in the book too.

I love that they're keeping everything close to the chest with this. But this is a great scene( heavily edited no less) to showcase a glimpse of the interaction the losers have with each other. This is right before Ben comes upon the group after being chased by the bowers gang.

My only gripe is Bill still seems to have no stutter.

It's on YouTube now for anyone who wants to favorite it.

I'm warming up to Pennywise. I'm glad his nose paint doesn't look so smudgy anymore.

My only gripe is Bill still seems to have no stutter.

Characters with stuttering is such a hard and tricky thing to do in movies before it gets old or annoying.

For example, the main character in 'Rocket Science' stutters, and while I did like the movie, it got jarring.

Anyone mind grabbing a still of that last shot?

Personally speaking it never got annoying with Jonathan Brandis' Bill in the original.

I don't remember his stuttering, but I haven't seen the mini series in a while.

Perhaps they're just not giving us particularly stutter-heavy scenes for Bill, but I wonder if maybe they're using a certain dialogue track that's just the actor reading the lines straight so folks watching on their computers/phones don't think the vid is f***ing up on them, or even just to save time.

Is that like an international trailer? How it can be an exclusive premiering on a Sunday on a random youtube channel I've never heard of?

The cinematography is great, and the actors are all good. But it's not really a trailer, is it. It's not very well put together. And it ends on a note that's just kinda meh.

Based on the look of the kids and being within a decent age range, for Part II, I'm thinking...

Bev - Jessica Chastain
Richie - Bill Hader
Mike - Chiwetel Ejiofor
Eddie - Zachary Quinto (or Eli Roth, but he's a bit older and I don't know much about his acting ability beyond beating Nazis with a baseball bat)

Still thinking about the other three. Not that [blackout]Stan[/blackout] matters much. Though they could always Janet Leigh/Drew Barrymore that casting and throw people off who haven't read the book.

Let's go with Quinto. Roth is like Tarantino - not much of an actor but is decent in small roles.

Might I say, while I'm disappoint about Cary not directing it, Andres has been impressing me with how the movie looks. It's beautiful. Very rich, without being overly color graded.

The kids were fine.

Think about this: If you're a fan of King's work, or read a book or two, then you know that the one thing that his fans agree upon:

King tends to be awful at dialogue. When spoken out loud, it reads as awkward and gee-golly.

Yes, is writing is rich, his world building and imagination is wonderful..but when his character speak (ot including their thoughts or actions in the prose) it's very much unnatural, and stilted at 'Leave it to Beaver' level.

I liked this chunk of dialogue we got in trailer. It's more a scene than a trailer. But I am onboard.

Okay, i'm sold. I'll definitely check it out in the theaters!

First trailer was much better as this is more just clips of a few scenes edited together. It's looking damn good though and think the kids are doing a great job and I'm someone who hates kids as main characters but this is an exception as with stranger things

Looks about a million times better than that other Stephen King "adaptation" coming out in a few months.

I'm liking that cast. For some reason, I can see Joel Kinnaman as adult Bill. Hell, maybe even Chris Pratt as adult Ben since he used to be fat too. :o

ETA: found it on Twitter, great clip. I liked the banter, but I wish Bill's stutter was stronger.
